According to Blizzard, gem exploit is now OK? Seriously?!?

I filed a complaint with Blizzard against gemmers and submitted a 50-page dossier.

Imagine my surprise when I got back this reply that seems to say "go ahead and gem all you want, it's OK."

Attached is a redacted copy of the my complaint and Blizzard's response.

Either my reading comprehension is really off today, or gemming is now legal, or the customer service reps cannot be relied on to know that the heck they're talking about.

As I have said it again Ive had gems for almost a year now and nothing happened its fully legit.
Why are you complaining? Being 24 and in a 5 man group of 24s and got beat by gemmed 24s?

As long as groups of 5 24s are allowed, 5 druids and rogues per bgs are allowed and the enchants that classic raiders used in endgame molten core are allowed in 20-24 gems fit into the same category as stated above.

Only problem i had with Duo is he didn't admit to wearing them. Honeybadger is the only person in bracket that has came out to wearing them since Cata and everyone knows he has them. Honey doesn't farm with Gems and has never used during premades or Wargames in fact doesn't even encourage them. Last i look he didn't macro manage the guild that way. Blizzard has not made it a priority to fix the problem. I actually don't have a problem with people using gems just more of a challenge. I just hate people lying about having them like i have stated. There is a ton of people using gems unless you think there lazy not leveling their professions. i won't point fingers but everyone has one in all major 24 guilds. Yde told me not to mention in thread and call people out so i won't. Stop complaining and play the game.

thats what I say stop complaining and play the game dont make threads about it you are a 24 group queueing in premades someone else is using gems to counter your 24 premade in this bracket its fair and square. survival of the fittest

recently went back and added 2 20 pvp power gems instead of 20 agil I used in cata after I realized how potent pvp power is and survival 10% agil isnt there anymore. But not like I use my gemmed character any longer.

This no different than we we got level 60s to attatch clefthide armor to our pants. Or what about the 300 mining skill lbug. How many free to plays used the skinning/herbing exploit to skill up or tried and failed? I say " Let ye who iswithout sin cast the first stone". It certainly won't be me.
Sweetsydney...

[snip] Honey doesn't farm with Gems and has never used during premades [snip].

I just had to laugh at that bit.

By not during premades you mean against your guild right? Because he seems to have no problem popping them on while premading with guildies versus mostly (F2P) pugs.

Now that that's out of the way.

On topic ahoy!

Gems, use 'em, don't use 'em. I don't care. It just gives me more reason to laugh as you flop about.

People who gem are just to skilled to get caught by blizz.

They rolled 24 for an advantage and that wasn't quite enough so let's exploit as well and use illegal 20 pvp power/resil (makes a HUGE difference at this lv idc what you think).

I sent a ticket in as well to no reply cap so just take screenshots and /pity them when you see the fails in a bg

Ears were burning, Sally the pally actually is regular gear not gemmed my fc gear actually hits 4400 :)

btw Sally i love the new eye

im not denying , but that is my regular gear on. i hit over 5k+ with gems. i have no reason to lie. like what was stated. exploit ain't no different of doing things not intended like trials with dks or low lvls with pink ribbon shirt . Game developer did not intend that. Hey to each their own. Honeybadger don't care

sally you act if i only have 1 set <smh>

/kisses

this is my last thing on here on this thread i really could care less. I look forward to playing that guild with gems.

I can't fathom why your think stam is better than other choices. Sounds like a waste of time farming.

each GM gives different answers and takes different actions which makes the screen shots rather worthless.

players that had there gem exploit items in 19 bracket reported have had them removed. which was evident on report of a 19 with blacksmithing would drop it once blizz took their items away and warned them. some players got temp banned after being caught a second time

i have done GM tickets using the wow website and the responses where is was not appropriate and that actions would be taken, etc etc.

i briefly explain
- how the exploit is done
- the BS loophole
- explain that they may hide the items in their bank and drop BS when not BGing

i do 2 SS's of the player one of the bracers on them and one of the gloves while they are in BGs or from wowarmory

For the love of pie, please stop saying that having gems is 'illegal.' Against the ToS, maybe. Frowned upon, sure. But illegal? Do you understand there are no legal ramifications for using gems in Wow?

At the very worst you might have your gems stripped and mailed back to you, maybe even receive a 3 hour vacation. Cops aren't coming to your house to arrest you.

Just sayin...

illegal

adjective
1. forbidden by law or statute.
2. contrary to or forbidden by official rules, regulations, etc.: The referee ruled that it was an illegal forward pass.

I trust that this clears up willix's confusion regarding my use of the term "illegal." Obviously I did not mean an offense "against the peace and dignity of the state."

When someone says that "it's raining cats and dogs," willix runs to the window expecting to see Mittens and Fido falling from the sky.
