I don't think that you should leave, Kahr. I think that you should own up to the insulting, belittling way that you talked to and about the F2P community, both to their faces and behind their backs. I think you should accept the misbehavior you did, be sorry for it, and try to make up for it.
In your comment online last night, however, and in your comments here, you make it clear that you look at this as something that is happening to you; that you are somehow the victim. You've directly said that you still feel justified in your actions towards the community. People don't want to see you go, man... they just want to see that you give a crap about them enough to treat them with respect and as equals.
You accused all the F2Ps of having some sense of entitlement, but in a lot of things you have said and done both to the public and in private conversations, you've really come across as being the one who has the sense of entitlement. The proper fix for that is not to continue to snub your nose at the community, but to put that nose down and show some humility and some empathy for your fellow players.
I still don't have any problem with you at all except for the way you've treated people. And the way you're not accepting responsibility now for your actions, that bugs me too. And if you decide to leave instead of making it right, then those will be the last impressions you leave with everyone. You don't want to go out on such a low note, do you?
We need good people to stay in the community. We don't need divisive people tearing us asunder from within. If you can continue to be the former and stop being the latter, and own what happened and try to make up for it like Earl did, then there's no reason why you should have to relinquish your place in the community. Just do the right thing.
