true... the question thing can work, on some.... regular people basically it should work. Probably like 8/10 people on any regular day of the week in any year, the questioning distraction will work..if the guy you're up against with a weapon is nuts though, and oh boy more people are capable of it than people think, then itll get negated, and won't be possible to delay with a question similar to in like a movie scenario.
Some people get so angry that they do in fact want to dangerously wound people, w/ weapons as long as theyre around.. you never know what someone is in IRL & what might fuck their head up to make them react like a psychopath.... dont even have to be mentally ill to act that way, variables galore
