Yet another 39 Lock :)

Well I am mostly done with my newest twink a 39 lock. I am just missing a Staff of Jordan, 1 Underworld band, the pvp cloak and boots. I have standby items in there place right now but it is pretty much finished. I am just wondering what yall think about it and which of these 2 specs would be good. I personally think they both have good and bad sides. Just looking for some opinions.

Oh and here is how it sits right now. I have been pvping with its current spec and it works good, but I figured I might as well move some points around to be more effective for pvp.

Yes CoE I have skipped in both its current spec and the other one I posted.



The full affliction works pretty good actually. I die easy but my dots kill a lot of people even after I die.
 
Ya...sorry was unclear before. Definitely get CoEx, it makes killing a few classes really much easier (paladins, shammies, and occasionally rogues). Its also great to spam on people who are chasing your fc (or you), hunter pets so they stop biting you, druids/mages so you make them shift/decurse a million times. Its a great little annoying spell that you won't use in every situation, but definitely comes in handy
 
coex is incredibly annoying on my druid, esp with the 1 second global CD.



also that smiley face tag is very deceiving.

if you want to be a CC tank you need soullink.

if you want to tab-dot-die a full affli build is nice to have^^ glass cannon gear comes in handy.
 
Definitely get CoE, it's extremely useful and worth dropping one point elsewhere to have. 1 point in something that modifies a current spell only slightly, or 1 point for an entirely new spell that allows you to kite and slow annoying people, the logic is astounding. ;)

I do like the looks of soul link I would probably last a lot longer vs the op ret pallys.



I dont really have the glass cannon gear, only at 221 Shadow SP right now. but with this Affliction spec my current gear works pretty good

I've been playing SL at 29 and I love it, I mean dot dot tab dot dot is pretty fun especially when you manage to get nearly their whole team including pets and get a ton of nightfall procs, but I was getting sick of just running in and dying. SL provides you a lot more survivability and if you roll in your SP gear you can kill people about the same without dying.
 
Ret pallies are pretty easy as 30/0/0, SL is overkill.



Rogues, warriors, and hunters however....easier as SL imo.

lol yea hand of freedom kills my CoEx and then they burst crit for like 600+ 3 or 4 times and im dead :(. Was stuck in a AB last night with 7 BE ret pallys it sucked.
 
If you are solo queueing i'd def get soul link. You can look up my lock Inkubi on Turalyon. Im usually 8/14/8 for max survivability, but I also always have ppl to queue up with. I can tell you for a fact that is the BEST build for arena. Unless a rogue is using wound poison, you can pretty much solo and class 1v1. I think right now the lock is affliction and in dmg gear. Normally I roll with 240 sp and 3k hp unbuffed (mining/agm). If you have soul link make sure you get the glyph and always use fel hunter glyph. If you are affliction and want to do MAX dmg use lifetap and siphon life.



If you have any questions feel free to jump over and ask and i can link the gear I use for SL build if you are interested (not at home right now or i'd log and switch gear)
 
Throw on Coex at the very start, make them use it right away. By the time it Bof wears off, reapply it, and take virtually no dmg the rest of the fight.



Pallies are usually one of the easier fights for locks

yes i do solo que mostly not many twinks on my server. im messing around with aff right now and probly going to see how SL is sometime as well.

I keep having problems with rogues and pallys. rogues cause there cripple just goes off to much its annoying. and pallys cause they have the speed increase talent that makes them way to fast and they always seem to have shield,HoF, and lay on hands up when i fight them. I think I am just used to playing my rogue in the bracket so much that not having stealth and so many way to get away takes some getting used to.



I do seem to have a very easy time killing other casters as long as its 1v1. Killing a healer makes for alot of fun :)
 
gearwise i would get a second underworld band. as far as shadow damage goes u can get 350 shadow dmg and 2k'ish hp.. i just met a lock that had it, 7 seconds to death..

i been looking for a second underworld band. no one seems to have one right now. i would love the 350 Shadow dmg but its very hard to find the shadow dmg gear. when its on the AH is like 50-100g each crazy. I will keep looking though
