Would dual wielding shadowfang be optimal for a ww monk??

farnk uncertain but perhaps shadowfang proc is disabled in instanced pvp? if for nothing else then for ilvl, however warforged (titanforged) invasion weapon is better? ;o

Both Blue ilvl 27 weapons and warforged weaps are better then shadowfang. And no, the proc does not work in bgs. Although I use my sf's just for the rep. I don't really care about those extra few stats. That's why I never use the ilvl ring/neck/head since they're so easy to get. I rather use my 2 argas rings just because.

Do monks use weapon damage? I can't remember.

If weapon damage matters, you'll want a slower mainhand. Either brushwood blade (alliance) or sinister scimitar. For OH, you'll want the highest ilvl you can get (34 from invasions, 27 from BG crate).

If weapon damage doesn't matter, you'll want 2x of the highest ilvl. You can use ilvl 24 things until you get the better ilvl stuff, so shadowfang is tied with every other ilvl 24 item (including heirlooms). So its mostly swag at this point.
