stopI think you're all dreaming. I'm putting my prediction here now:
All Pre-existing Characters Will Only Be Accessible By Subscription.
Meaning Every One Of Our F2P/Vet Alts Becomes Locked Just As 21+ Characters Are Locked Now.
It's going to be time to start over.

that'll be a lot of angry complaints then if that happened.I think you're all dreaming. I'm putting my prediction here now:

that and people thinking about buying the subscription again for items normally not obtainable. if they see that, that could drive those types of buyers off. From whom? Non-payers?

Leaked information from Blizz. headquarters:
They'll lock all alliance f2p chars in Northshire Abbey's basement. Priests will torture them till players buy game time or subs. Horde f2p's will be in Valley of Trials cave and eat insects to survive.
ok, im just gonna ask the community at large here to be honest.
… what is with every one automatedly assuming that we're just getting 10s and that's it?
no official statement has been made as of yet. we latterly don't even know what it is yet.
could be latterly like everyone else has stated for the past few hours.
7-8, 10, 20 or even 20+ is possible.

Reporting in from MoonguardSimpler solution: lock every f2p in Goldshire Inn (MoonGuard US or ArgentDawn EU), and let them enjoy the place until they gave up and pay their sub
it does make sense that they’ll try to rangle in much of us in, but the problem with those of us outside those borders have a huge advantage. Like I’ve stated earlier on another forum like old northrend, pandara, legion and possibly the burning legion and wod would technically be able to beat anyone that’s tied to the old world (including new people or alts).Simpler solution: lock every f2p in Goldshire Inn (MoonGuard US or ArgentDawn EU), and let them enjoy the place until they gave up and pay their sub. I assure you it'll be pretty quick

The following is only my opinion:
Most people assume that because it would be the most logical choice to do.
With the curent scaling, current lvl20 should go down to lvl8. They made a new content for 1-10 to show players Azeroth, it's challenge, and more generaly have a good idea of the gameplay. So from that, it seems logical that f2p level be extended to lvl10 at least to be in that phase made for "new players". Because the main target of the F2P is to get new players to the game.
Sure we could be limited to a higher level. But if everything scales to your level (as most of the expansion content can be done in whatever order you want), giving f2p access to lvl10+ is almost the same as giving them at least half of all the expansions content, which seems unlikely.
For sure we don't have any confirmations yet, and we might not have any confirmation before a long time. The only thing we do is speculating. No one ever said that it will be what we'll get.
That's what I was discussing a bit earlier with Conzilso at level 10+ flying? since you can go to other expacs and quest
I think the rabid "F2P speculators" need to take a deep breath, and ask themselves four questions:
1. "What was Blizzard's goal in creating Trial accounts?"
2. "What was Blizzard's goal in creating Veteran characters?"
3. "How has Blizzard shaped the current game to accommodate those goals?"
4. "How might Blizzard shape this new-leveling-experience to accommodate those same goals?"
Some seem to think that Blizzard is suddenly going to declare all of this a "failed experiment", and simply hold all twinks hostage until they pay-up. I suppose that's technically a possibility, but destroying an entire playerbase that they intentionally created seems counterintuitive...
...so if we presume that our twinks will still be playable, how will Blizzard integrate them with those aforementioned goals?
I certainly have my own theories about how this might eventually play-out, but my "wild speculation" high is waning... and at this point I'm content to wait until we get some more "facts".
That's what I was discussing a bit earlier with Conzil
Even if we get access to that, we still have our 10 gold cap, not enough to get flight afaik
