WoD Legacy Looting Tip

Hi! If I may return to the original topic, I have one tip regarding legacy looting. I would recommend not to use it in WoD dungeons, since you are probably not going to get more useful gear than from soloing it. I have tried both legacy loot with higher lvl character and soloing dungeons and soloing seems way more effective (unless you are a paladin or shaman). Most of the gear from legacy loot would be useless and when you solo WoD dungeons you get 1 appropriate piece from every boss, which is amazing. I was surprised how easily I can solo with my warlock. After a little practise and improving my gear I am able to solo Iron Docks under 7 mins (using another char to reset instance to teleport me back to the start), because I am really forced to kill only one of the thrash mobs in whole dungeon (with . If you are able to solo bosses, just give it a little commitment and you might see great results. As guardian druid I can solo it under 8 mins, but it is easier than with warlock because of prowl.
Last but not least, it is so much more fun to solo than to get boosted by higher level.

it's been mentioned already , but it really comes down to whatever you perfere doing so you don't get burned out from the gear grind, because no matter if you do legacy or personal looting - it's going to take a while to get fully geared..

but untill you almost have one full ilvl 87 set I personally found doing legacy runs to be more effecient and just grind out a lot of runs for more chances of loot. cause one run takes around 3m20s~ so you can do 2-3 legacy clears in the time it takes to do one solo-run. which is around 8-12~ items more, but this also depends on your group setup if you have multiple 20s able trade.

when you want to start working on certain gear sets with specific secondary stat/rolls, is probably when i'd start looking into doing solo-runs. but even then it still feels super rng since there's still 12-15 different items able to drop with personal loot, which then still needs to proc WF.

if your insane and want to try your luck farming WF+socket drops I would suggest to try farm the 1st boss in Auchindoun, it's the only 1st boss available that has 2x items being able to proc sockets on them. it's also kinda convenient boss to farm as its just 12 trash mobs and after killing the boss a portal will spawn that takes you to the ouside entrance to reset.

being able to do stealth runs is definitely a luxury and might be the best way to gear up a druid specificly, other classes could consider playing around with 'bloodthorn loop-ring' or invisibility potions / engineering tinkers to sneak around and skip trash.

Huh?

edit- not exactly sure what you're saying but all the WoD stuff can proc socket except trinkets, AFAIK. It's other xpacs that have "SL restrictions".... isnt it? Did that change too? Used to be every slot for sure, but now I'm not sure, lol.

it's the only 1st boss out the available WoD dungeons to 20s that has 2x items on its loot table thats able to proc socket on both drops, going by the 'shadowlands socket-slots' that includes rings and belts. so there's a 'higher' chance farming for WF+sockets on this 1st boss compared to the other ones.

1st boss item drops with available socket-slots:
auchiondoun: belt+rings
burial grounds: cloak+neck
blood slag mines: bracers+legs
iron docks: chest+rings

this is just kinda for messing around if you really want to try your luck going for WF+socket , because it's still a stupid low drop chance but it's probably the best place to grind for such if you don't want to clear an entire instance solo.

I was under the impression from past experience that WoD was not fallen under that SL restriction, but I cant provide any proof otherwise. I got so few socket procs as it was and if it wasnt epic I trashed em, lol... the few I kept were all SL slots.

It's the other way around sadly, everything regarding socket procs seems to have fallen under the SL restriction.. or so it seems from my own grinding experience.

I believe WoD has same SL sockets…helm, wrist, neck, belt, rings I believe. I’ve run hundreds of clears and haven’t seen anything else (10, 16, and 20 toons).

I cant say otherwise, tho I do recall getting them before... maybe i got mixed up with heroics... my bad.

(edit- well, unrelated to this thread, that makes gf'd ToC 29 even more ridiculous... where's Jade at? :LUL:)

I miss that version of ToC man. I was so burned out running stuff before the prepatch ended, but it was an actual epic vending machine(credit to WG for that phrase). I took it for granted, honestly

I feel that sockets are probably a 1-2% proc, tertiary stats double that. I got 5x Raven-heart Headdress the other night.

Something interesting...
