Why I Twink

I play to complete the objectives in the BG, not for HKs or KBs or most damage done.

My old guild used to laugh at the players touting their performance on the chart when xserver BGs came around. The distraction board. All the damn thing does is promote farming, road fighting, circle zerging in AB and misfound glory. Healing the FC used to be my job in my old guild, some nights I barely did anything so on the scoresheet I looked like a useless pug, but my bottom of the bracket healing might have been the most important heals of that match. Our rouge was the same way. Low damage and KBs but had all the flag returns.

I like that this bracket has the poential to be like how it used to be. We used to sit players out to even out matches. We had our mage run the flag instead of our hax druids, or the druids ran without the 58 PvP blues run speed bonus. All for the sake of good fun even matches. Cause honestly if you win in a landslide victory, what did you win? Honor points, but that's about it. I'd rather lose a close match than win a blowout any night of the week.

I agree Bob, the only thing this bracket would be awesome with that it doesn't have is AV. I often reflect on the AV of old, summoning the elemental, the sky guard, the field of strife actually was a field of strife. Games would last forever and you didn't even have to worry about HK farming because playing the game objectives netted you 100's of kills (and deaths). That was the golden age of pvp on WoW. It was hard, challenging and most of all fun. I feel this bracket harkens back to those days in a way.

That's my philosophy as well. In my 39 warrior twink days (from before cross-realm BG's until TBC), I was the defender. I guarded the flag (in AB as well as WSG) as I had counters that kept the stealthers from being able to ninja the flag and get out scott free. A lot of times, I spent the game doing nothing. My thought was that if my zeros across the board meant that my team wins, then I was taking zeros across the board.

I dislike the endless grind at level cap. I dislike doing dailies for months to get access to game stages or better gear. I dislike doing all over again with a new major patch. I put an end to it once Wrath was over.

When the word of unlimited trial account got out, I gave it a shot. And the 20-24 bracket is so great. I can never get bored. Even after so many months, I can say I have so much fun.
