If you play a priest:
  • Why did you make one?
  • What do you like about them?
  • What could blizzard change to make you stop playing your priest?

If you don't play a priest:
  • Why don't you make one?
  • What don't you like about them?
  • What could blizzard change about priests to make you want to play one?

OH i can answer this one;

Why did i make a priest?
-Because after playing DPS classes for a couple months, I wanted to be cool and save everyone (heal) like swagbag. He had never rolled a priest so he said I should try it. Plus those little bubbles looked really cool.

What do I like about them?
-The fact that they can switch from Healing to DPS instantly and can do some AMAZING burst when geared. I have so much fun turning around after healing and then blowing people up. Makes me laugh every time. Don't go against a geared priest. It can be bad. I also love how they can be a huge game changer on the battleground. When someone is getting destroyed, a quick bubble to stop them from dying and then popping a heal off is great. (Its really fun to save people at like EXTREMELY low hp) There are not that many priests either. Idk, they are just super duper cool.

What could blizzard change to make you stop playing your priest?
-Oy this question scares me. Lets see, basically taking away our DPS would make me very sad. I am somewhat sad for MOP, but nothing is finalized so haven't started panicking quite yet. Getting rid of bubble would kill me. But I love my priest, I have been through so much with him, and will still continue to go through thick and thin with him.
Im worried as to why you are asking this question.

Priest supz fun.

1. I made a priest because I wanted to try healing, and because Horde side needed more heals :) And, priests are just cool, c'mon.
2. I love how viable priests are at healing in this bracket. A good one can be a real game changer if they can keep their teammates up against an otherwise stronger team. And they can do some series damage to boot! Although, sorry Hordies you got a noobie priest! I try!
3. Well I haven't played any priest long enough to run my mouth too long about them or know what I would miss the most, but I guess probably their ability to heal well and dps on an equal level. Perhaps that's why I love my druid so much, the ability to dps and heal (a little) when needed. So basically, if Blizzard took away the variety, or nerfed them too hard and took away their gift of being able to do some hardcore healing. But, guess I have no worries with the MoP reports thus far.

Why did you make one?
I made a whole ton of things, my priest was the one that got agm and LFH first.

What do you like about them?
Healing is amazing in that a well geared disc priest can just stand there and keep everything alive without having to worry about being too squishy. Being able to penance dps and kill things without switching specs was fun too.

What could blizzard change to make you stop playing your priest?
Already kind of have stopped playing it to be horde/a druid. It was a little boring for me and I wanted to fc and turn into kitties.

i dont have one because priest doesnt fit my play style. My main was mage which means i like casters but i like dealing dmg rather than healing. Out of all three cloth casters, shadow priest is so much different from warlock or mage if you know what i mean. (not only because of the healings... i cant really explain that well.. i guess what i mean is mages and warlocks can set up combo chain CC and destroy the target like deep freeze pet freeze, dragon's breath, frost nova, fear, death coil, shadowfury etc etc while shadow priest doesnt do much of CCing but just does lots of dps with dots and all.. (dont know that well since ive never played one but ive faced alot of them so...)

BTW i can beat shadow priests on PTR as a mage /flex i accept your challenges :)

and blizzard cant do anything better because shadow priest is different and appealing to other people. As long as they dont ruin my mage, im fine. if i was to go back to p2p again, i would 100% go warlock. thats how much i love dps casters :)

tbh the way priests look in mop ain't looking good. but shadow priest's are being said to be the next hunter.

I made a priest because they were very good to twink back in early tbc and was a good anti twink choice to make. I was one of the first twinkers back then in our battlegroup who twinked out a priest fully and played it quite well to be honost. I really miss our old tree bark jacket, talbar mantle, darkweave breeches with a white glow aka healing power enchant on a staff of the blessed seer look they had at 19 although it was very expensive back then :)

As you can see that i started early twinking a priest in a time where there were + healing enchants and such not as today where spellpower increases all. You twinked specially for healing wich did not increase spellpower/damage. As a priest you could just wand some to death and keep youself up with the heals and shields. Today they are just great and can do all of that and more. A priest today is like all specs in one of old wich keeps me playing one. Damage and healing combined in one but if they went back to the old style i wouldnt even mind.

Like i said, priests are great and i dont think blizzard could change priests in a way that makes me stop playing one for sure.

I actually don't remember why I made a Priest in the first place, but what I enjoy about them is the ability to heal and do damage at the same time. It makes the gameplay more dynamic and fun, unlike every other healer. I don't think there's anything that could ever stop me from playing a Priest, I love the class to death.

@Pouch: the reason you did bad damage on the ptr is because you were using Penance to heal, it ticks for ~200 damage.

Exactly this ^. What else would you need more?

Can't say why I chose priest but its fun as hell.

And to the mop haters, priests will be fine. Sure you lose MB and PWF, but you gain an amazing CC talent. So you're going from damage to control, just a playstyle change.

I rolled a priest because when I played a shaman in Wrath it was always the priests that complained about how resto shamans were so OP (during the time when resto shaman were actually the worst). I've always despised being feared as it is very disorienting. So I decided to roll a priest to see how "awful" they were in comparison and to be on the other side of fear for once. I ended up leveling my first f2p priest and really really liked it. When I made my next f2p priest I really missed binding heal and healing by smite, but it's still a helluva lot more enjoyable than playing a shaman in this bracket.

The thing that I really enjoy about f2p priests is that fort buff. It's like everyone enjoys having you just for that. I once had a f2p priest with 800 health on a wsg weekend and everyone booed the undergeared to leave, but made an allowance for me, rofl. I also enjoy how bubbles provide so much cushion. If I get sapped while someone undergeared is holding the flag, they'll generally live long enough for me to not have to worry. That doesn't happen with pally/shaman. And there's something really satisfying about bubbling someone with less than 100 health and then healing them up.

The things I don't like about priest at this level is that they're so squishy compared to the other healers. Playing a priest means that I'm always the first healer targeted (which I think it's a bad strategy to kill alliance priests first, as they generally won't refort unless they die). I also dislike the shadow resistance of UD/draenei, but that's pretty minor.

I'm not usually the kind of person who gives up on their favorite class just because it gets harder to play so I don't know what it would take to drive me away.

Why did you make one?
I have (had?) always been curious about the strength of a shadow priest in this bracket. When the opportunity arose to make a f2p priest using my p2p account, making gearing and leveling easier, I decided I might as well take it.
What do you like about them?
So far, the burst is fairly good. I'm liking the ability to bubble as a dps, and looking forward to testing out the utility of Mind Flay in a premade situation

Take away psychic scream and my bubble would probably make me stick to my druid.

I am making a priest, because I like the offensive abilities of Disc.

Basically, I always loved the idea of Disc when I am on my P2P account. Awesome heals, not squishy at all, and awesome damage. Disc Priests, in my professional opinion, are better than mages, and frankly, they are better than most hunters out there.
