What to do pre 19?

New to classic twinking and will be playing it as my main.

Just looking for some tips on what to do before lvl 19 apart from the quests for gear/dungeon runs?
I don't want to waste my beloved xp on random quests etc and would rather put it to farming gold etc etc

any help appreciated xox

You'll spend less time leveling another character than trying to farm on a 19.

@artonkn has an excellent point though. You will want to discover every single nook and cranny of every zone you ever plan to step foot in. Accidental levels are a major bummer.

Savory deviate delight is always a reliable gold source, maybe not this early though.
Swiftness pots, if you've explored enough areas to pick herbs from.

Without a higher level Toon to farm Gold/items/Consumables, it's going to cost that 19 a ton to maintain. You won't have access to high level Bandages without a Character high enough to make them and mail to that 19. Since you can only have 2 professions I'm guessing you'll be Eng + ? (Mining if only toon likely) but even then you'll have to purchase Leather for certain patterns.

My suggestion is level an easy Class like Hunter, Lock or Mage and make them Tailoring/Enchanting -OR- Herbing/Alchemy. Either set of Professions will make some good Gold while also providing you will items/Consumables you'll need at 19. You don't have to get them to 60, 35 is high enough to max all Professions. Also keep in mind, you cannot Enchant your Alts unless on a separate Account, no Vellums in Classic.

Outside of that, explore everywhere like everyone has already said.

Hey there, here's what I did on my upcoming 19 priest :

1. Choose the right name and level it up to level 10 either through grinding of questing, save the linnen cloth.

2. Grab both fishing nd first aid and level up as you explore the following zones based on your faction :

- all major cities through a mage port
- elwynn forest/mulgore for the fair
- brewing event zones
- outside darnassus for the april fools event
- stranglehorn valt (west coast, arena and bounty bay)
- warsong gulch vendor location
- rep locations for those you want to get (furbolg, argent dawn, etc)
- if you're on a pvp server or planning to transfer, go to open world pvp zones from 10 level below and above level 19.

I assume you take all the flight paths along the way

Once you're lvl 10 and followed this you should be 150 fishing and have all main locations visited, the rest of it (wailing caverns, deadmines, etc) can be explored later on.

At that point you're better off creation another toon (mage/hunter if you plan to use it to finance your twink). Level that toon to atleast level 35 (I'd go 40+ or even 60 if you've time lol).

Make sure to grab skinning and another gathering professions. Sell leathers to vendor straight away and keep herbs/ores for upcoming patches on a bank alt. Only buy spells necessary for farming and send all extra gold on al alt so you don't get to spend it.

In the meantime the level 10 twink should have his HS in Bounty Bay, staying most of the time logged off outside the arena to check every 3 hours to to go up to the fishing island when the fishing contest if up.


If you read it all good job. Might not be the best but that's what I've done so far
