We were all noobs once, too.

this is why im always nice to the nubbsies. newbies are everywhere and its expected especially in the f2p bracket. either get along and try to help them or drown in them. I will help anyone as long as they are willing to ask me. Even if not everyone gets help or gets better, as long as at least one person is helped, its well worth the time. The only players i have problems with are the irrational hostile/rude players you sometimes unfortunately have to play with.

It's really a simple choice:

"That newbie is dragging us down... I'd better kick him / insult him / drive him out, so we can win!"

or...

"That newbie is dragging us down... I'd better help him / befriend him / bring him in, so we can win!"

The choice really depends on one's true inner personality, I suppose.

- Not only that, it's counter-productive. Scaring away potential Blizz customers could mean that fewer people will buy the game, who after all, are the ones that make f2p twinking viable for Blizz and and therefore let us continue playing in our own little welfare-created niche of self-delusional importance.

Please stop trying to derail this topic. It's an important message and I don't want to see it deleted too soon. Causing a flamewar because new players are using trial accounts, an intended official way for new players to try out WoW, is just. No.

Bringing up your previous points is, this bracket wasn't intentionally a twink bracket. In fact, Blizzard doesn't like F2P twinking but said they won't do anything to get rid of it. Trial accounts were created for new people and we're just the guys who were clever enough to take advantage of trial accounts and use them to their full potential.

Ok first of all its either some of you must be new to the internet/MMOs, because the internet is made up of stupid people asking stupid questions, porn, games, and scams. this is never going to change, nor is it a problem that it is set up this way. Or want to look like ''the good guys'' in the mods eyes.So now that we got this out of the way

Here we are trying to promote the helping of new players and let them enjoy bg, but how am I supposed to take anything you say seriously when you made that pimped out lvl 24 rogue that 1 shots these said ''noobs''. that you are always wanting to help out. That's the whole paradox thing I already see right there.

I am even doing them a favor by not letting the new guys see the horrors that await, who enjoys getting brutalized by rogues like yours over and over? Not me. It just leaves a sour taste in their mouth and will actually make them ragequit the game instead of getting reported where they didn't even know what had even happened and continue questing because they cant queue

There is a difference between a shitty community and having to carry 800 hp players every game.

Some people are really bad at teaching, some people have a really bad reaction to those who need help, its sad, but what do you expect. The bar is pretty low for how people can behave in WoW, unfortunately.

"Your focus determines your reality."

at the end of the day if your all being honest with yourselfs, wow and online games like it in general attract "nerds" aka outcast in "real life" (what is this real life?).

thus causing it to attract obnoxious c****s who want to play the big man online. its not just f2p its wow in general and like this, and im sure other online games (not played any so could not say as fact). the way i see it is if anyone regardless of experience can't take a few jumped up nerd on the internet insulting them then they need to have a word with themselves.... they will face much worse in "real life", thats just my opinion!

no offence intended by this (well a little i guess) just how i see it :)

I was never a noob player. I began at level 60/70/80/85/90 - the most skilled player of each bracket in both PvE and PvP. I am a God. loljks - I'm terrible.
Some of you have to learn to teach the new community - however, sometimes it is just horrible and you do not want to.
I had a level 20 Druid take the flag in a Warsong Gulch yesterday. 1,200 health - very low. I warned him that it may be unwise to carry the flag as many people will one shot him. "np, i no wat im doin" was the reply. When we reach the Flag Room after having to get past a 24 Orc Protection Warrior - was so lucky he did not critically hit with his Shield Slams! The Druid proceeded to ask "how do i score?" I, in all honesty, thought he was joking - for he had just told me that he knew what he was doing. I asked him; "Are you being serious? You told me you knew what you were doing." "****ing tell me," he replied - to my shock. I explained it and then came the two 24 Rogues on the opposing team - one shot.
Now, this is what I dislike with people - they say they know what they are doing, then get angry quickly and turn out to know little-to-nothing. I'm not complaining, I try help people wherever I can - even if I'm not the greatest player of all specs I will give them minor tips that should always improve their play style. The main reason I duel new players that like to PvP is to teach them things to counter the classes I am on and general things about their class that I know.

if you can't figure out how your class works by level 20 you are terrible at video games in general. not talking about gear or the other nuances of WoW like macros, focus, knowing how to CC chain, etc. I mean to be level 20 and 900 hp you have to literally be almost naked and not replacing gear with the greens you get from quests. I had 1k HP with minimal quest and dungeon gear as a fresh 20. I might have had maybe 3 greens from questing, another from a drop, and maybe a satchel blue and a quest blue.

that said, there is no excuse for lobbing insults. whenever i'm in a shitty pug i always tell my team to do their best and that's all i can ask from them. win or lose, knowing you did everything you could possibly do is all that matters. people who play this game only on a free account need to realize that not everyone is playing the game for free to max their character and BG all the time. Some people are legit trying out the game and being horrible to them solves nothing. i've called my team dumb from time to time and offered some not so polite tips but that's reserved for people who think they play the game so well but aren't that great.

also you should name names and we should shame whoever it was at the cost of your twinkinfo account. actually just PM their names to me because I never would want to group with them again.

You also have to remember people are used to playing games with bad response time, so chain casting in WoW could be new to them. Happened to a friend of mine when he started

A difference must be made between a noob and a newb.

We have all been newbs at some point but learn. The community teaches this to some degree. Do not believe me? Try showing up in a BG with greens. Someone will "educate" you very quick.

A noob, on the other hand never wants to learn. The noob does not care.

I say, though, if you are reading forums, particularly specialized forums like TI, you get de-newbified pretty quickly if you actually read some of these guides.

Wow, your writing style is eerily similar to mine.

Anyway, I agree with you, and here's a past thread where some of the same stuff had been mentioned before.

Now I'm going to go click on that link in your post.

Yeah, my thread. I got really mad when a new player got kicked and called loads of shit. I NEVER kick a new player, and I hope people will start being more kind to them.

Nothing but the truth. I was in his place once, when I was just finding out about twinking.

If he haven't quit I hope he finds someone worthy of him :)

Normally I don't really have a problem with newer players more those that have played a long time and still say things like polymorph the druid.

i'll just leave this for Dramatized.

i'll just leave this for Dramatized.

I'll just leave this. Sainttwink (Holy Paladin) lost vs Dramatized (undergeared Hunter)

The Saint, Stavie, Nami, Mesikämmen, Rotten Brain and 2 others liked this post

What's this?! 2 others argh!!! those 2 who liked first - should not be marked as some "others"

Just yesterday I had a fight at LM with a f2p priest and rogue versus a resto shaman, resto druid and priest. It took about 5-6 minutes to kill them off with me rotating sheeps as best I could. AFAIK the rogue wasn't kicking and when I asked for a switch in /s due to DR he didn't oblige me. The priest was also fearing for us which helped, although the rogue was attacking feared targets. Anyway after the fight we congratulated each other and I had a short but nice talk with the rogue. I asked him if he'd heard of TI and he said yes, so I encouraged him to come check out the forum. Hopefully he will.

Bringing people to TI is something which may never change the face of our bracket on a large scale the way we would like. But then again maybe it will. You just might feel good about yourself or make a friend in the process. Keep up the good work folks.
