We could do more

Nigga you're one of the people that drove me off AP because you told me I was an asshole so many times because I'd remove the idiots. Go fuck yourself.

It seems you earned that title with statements like that.

I left AP because the community was horrible. The only reason I went to AP was for the community. and since it was not for me, like many others, I moved on. During my stay there, I only met two player that had had any dignity.

Hi everyone! Been gone a month with no internet climbing in the Himalayas (you would think being that much closer to the satellites might give you some internet, or my logic is just bad idk).

I never played AP because I made my f2p long before I knew of AP and can't be bothered to reroll. I haven't played WOD yet, but I will be soon enough. Not sure if this thread is telling people to go back to one server or not, but even tho I'm all on my lonesome, I'd be down to participate in events if they were posted on TI.

Either way, my pug-tastic self is looking forward to seeing you people on the battle field!

Meet any nice Sherpas?

Can someone please make a thread explaining wargames vs skirmishes?

What's available to us?
What are the differences?
Do you need to be opposing factions?
Do you need full teams for either or does it not matter?
Can you do it across CRZ?
Can you have teammates across CRZ?

And then maybe highlight:
Adding people to your battletag can allow you to pst anyone across server.
You can start games with /wargame partyleadname
Any other tips and tricks.

Sadly I haven't done a ton of these. I think it would help the community get these rolling.

Wargames can be arena or battlegrounds.

Skirmishes are a random arena finder only.

War game bgs have a range of required players depending on the game type. So wsg has a minimum of 5v5, caps out at 10v10. It's different for every bg. If you actually mouse over your pvp tab you can see whats required for each wargame battleground/arena.

You don't need even teams. We played an eots recently that was 15vs11

To do wargames you have to set your groups up and challenge the opposing teams leader. They need to be near you for the challenge to actually go through and be accepted/declined.

I think you can do CRZ wargames, i havent tried since cata honestly.

negativity is poison
Exactly. I dont' really have a dog in the fight when it comes to AP, but you might want to start focusing on what you like about your realm, and build from there. Deconstruction has it's purpose, but at some point someone has to start building again.

So true!

The OP was great. Then came a cycle of criticism, defensiveness, criticism, defensiveness, and contempt. The cycle is non-productive and only exacerbates the disagreements.

Try being positive.

I feel like the great bulk of the responses and conversation in this thread were positive and were working towards some real solutions. Maybe I only perceive that because I am a positive person. But I think we're doing good things here. One will always have to weave in between the naysayers to get anything worthwhile done; that's just the way life is.

Let's agree, per the OP's request, to keep this thread about making more wargames happen, and not talk about AP anymore. This is the second time I've politely suggested this.

I want to know, if we're going to try to organize 10v10 wargames, what is the best night for everyone to do this? Let's assume that for the foreseeable future, the time immediately after the Fishing Tourney is still reserved for Alterac Valley queueing, as it has been for the last few weeks. What other time works for you all?

This type of event can't be organized by just saying "be on at this time, trust me" Wargame bgs need a viable comp and team and a leader. All these attributes are especially true when talking about teams that have not played together in a premade setting excessively, ie: nearly everyone. Wargames still have bugs that can make restrict some teams and even more bugs that may not have been found yet.

Kincaide, talking about AP or just a dedicated server in general will speed up the process of making wargame 10v10s a regular event. In the future if everyone starts to play on one server, being ap or not, these 10v10 wargames can happen without a schedule or team-making. "oh 10 ppl on horde, 10 ppl on ally, ok lets do some wsg. Everyone jump in skype". Similar to korgath of the past, ppl log in and can do wargame arena's or bgs / skrims and once there are enough ppl available setting up 10v10s is easy. With everyone being on the same server everyone will get to know everyone and a true community of skilled and fun players can flourish. While creating short-term games right now to test and explore what could be a different meta play-style is a great idea, dismissing the talk of AP and the idea of having one server for everyone to roll on for wargames is probably the stupidest thing to do right now. Ppl will always complain and go off topic with insults or what have u, to avoid an important topic because of some banter is something i dont believe is correct

I'm not avoiding the topic, I've been one of the topic's biggest proponents. Both in this thread and in my own thread on the topic a few weeks ago. I disagree, however, that getting everyone on one server and THEN starting to do 10v10s is the right way to go. I think you need to get people to see first-hand what 10v10s can be for F2Ps, and then once people are motivated, then you can get them to start considering things like how do we make the best comps, should we all be on one server for convenience, etc. When I was a kid my dad used to say "You can't wait until all the lights between here and Toledo have turned green". You have to start moving now. And once you're moving, the best way to get to Toledo will open up before you.

We're working on it! Stay tuned!

I got a chance to come in on the end of the 3v3 games last night on AP. The games i played in were competitive, i had a good time. Push for Aerie Peak, the foundation is set and possibilities are endless! My 2 cents

Oh how correct you are sir. if you do remember i spent alot of time recruiting and asking ppl such as yourself and others to join my team what my intentions were and when i planned on doing them. once i got my team setup i could honestly premade whenever i wanted.

Lanky i said it once before man. show me a 10v10 wargame and i will bring The Goon Squad back. nuff said premades for everyone at that point
