Hello friends and happy new year. I know that many people loved the game at 60 and would be more than willing to partake in a guild that shares mutual interest, the only problem is finding a guild that is still in existence. Today I come to inform you that Oldschool of Kel'Thuzad was an extremely strong and notable 60 Raiding and PvP guild that seemed to vanish into thin air due to a leadership problem back in August. Today I come to deliver the news that we have reformed the guild, this time fixing the problems of the past and laying a solid foundation for the future of our guild.



What was Oldschool?

- Oldschool was one the largest level 60 raiding and PvP guild on the Kel'Thuzad server, however Oldschool had several problems with its guild structure, leadership, and rules. This ultimately led to what seemed to be its demise back in August of 2010.



What is Oldschool today?

- Today, it pains me and pleases me to inform you that Oldschool has just been revived. Oldschool has received new management and under this new management we have done our best to fix all the structural problems that led to the guild's collapse. We are a 60 "twinking" guild that focuses on doing all the available 60 raids and making a name for ourselves on the battlefield. If you loved the game at 60, if you missed the game at 60 and want to relive old experiences, or if you are seeking a different style of gameplay that requires heavy teamwork and coordination, then our guild is one to consider.



I am the Guild Leader of Oldschool and I did not come here to advertise a "dead" guild to you. It is true that we are not at all close to the number of active members we once had, but after the fall of a guild, that is expected. I do come here to advertise a guild that can be a haven for lovers of classic content, I do come here to advertise a guild that has and always will be dedicated to giving our members a true feel of classic WoW - whatever it takes, I do come here to advertise a guild that will grow and offer a truly remarkable experience because of YOU, because of your love of how the game once was. The path to revive our guild fully will not be easy, it will be challenging; however it will be truly rewarding as you will get to partake in the growth of something truly amazing, an empire, not my empire, not your empire, but our empire - the empire of Oldschool.

Feel free to browse our forums to check out our guild rules, loot rules, and guild ranks. If you are indeed interested in reliving the goodness of Classic World of Warcraft, then please apply for the guild and do your best on the application. Even if you are not level 60 but are interested you may still apply, we will NEVER turn anyone down who has the dedication and determination to level a character to 60 on our server.

I play the rogue more than the warrior since I have one binding the essence and all bars, I run him weekly with my 85 pally on my other account. I may xfer if thats cool. I dont need anything from mc. I could use bwl tho. What are raid times if you got those setup and days.

You'll need to register and apply on our guild website, we'd be glad to have you. Currently raid times are undecided, on our application there is a spot to post your available times, after we know this we're going to try and work our a schedule that fits everyone best.
 
Don't you have free transfers off that server? I've heard it is one of the largest, busiest and laggiest servers to be on. What are the queues to login like?

Yep, we do have free transfers off the server; However it is not buggy / laggy at all. I've only experienced short que's like 20 people ones around 8'o clock at night.
 
Over eight promising members have joined us in the past few days, isn't it time you did as well?



On a side note, we were running premade WSG's last night, gotta love wrecking the 64 death knights. Just so you know, i'm on a Cataclysm account.
 
i would join on my mage, warrior, rogue, or druid but dont feel like paying 50 $ srry, keep me posted if u ever have a horde affiliated guild and i may join.

Hmmm, well, if we ever do get a horde sister guild i'll have them make a post about it. However, that'll probably not happen for a while, unfortunately.

Our prices are inflated out the ass, you may be able to make some money on the transfer. Before you do, you'll need to register and apply on our website - Oldschool - I realize this may be an inconvenience but it is required of everyone, even the members and officers in my guild who are returning from inactivity.
 
Quick question, Im kinda lost on the bg issue. Im on a vanilla account. Sometimes ques pop most of the time now they dont. I did the bc trial and kept exp on and they pop. I turn exp off when the bc trial and they dont pop. How in the world do you bg now adays? I do not want my 60's to level.
 
Level 60s that are on 'capped' accounts are now force-queued with toons that have their XP turned off, regardless of whether they paid to turn it off or not.

BG's are not server or battlegroup based anymore, BUT this is causing some bugs.



In essence, both of these issues are what's causing the problems. It's not likely to get fixed very quickly since Blizzard does not "support" twinking, but you can still submit tickets saying that you've been in queue forever and the queues are not popping. Flood them and annoy them until they fix something! :)
 
Do they pop under 20 mins on that server? I get a est time for que 3mins, And it goes to 2 hours without anything. It seems like my battlegroup is dead. Is being forced with people with exp a bad thing? I dont really think it is since I hardly meet anyone on vanilla accounts anymore.
 
I'm joining, is it okay if I go on a DK plzzzzzzzzzzzz

If you're queing with XP off then you que with every battlegroup. The "best" way to do BG's now is to have a non vanilla account, have your XP ON, que for WSG with your guild, control the flags so your team doesn't cap, then /afk out at two min. I'm not sure if blizzard fixed the XP-Off ques with the patch this week, i'll edit this post when I find out. As for the que pops, if we're doing the XP on WSG, they usually pop in about 3-5 min (assuming the que doesn't bug). Being forced to play with the XP on level 60-64's isn't bad, if you have gear then you'll usually beat them down pretty easily.

Oh I have the gear, So I gotta have a bc account with exp on to bg? lol I think ill stick with raiding on my vanilla account. I sure would hate to level any of my toons. Can you check if ques pop for people with a vanilla account on that server ?
