Blackout
Greatest of all Time
Using X numbers here is my two cents. Lets say a warriors AP in normal everyday DPS gear is 500. 40 AP out of that 500 is hardly noticeable damage difference, think of 40 AP as 20 STR. One could say that 40 AP is 12.5% of your whole attack power and that is 12.5% less damage, which is wrong. Attack power is only damage increase ontop of your weapons damage, to get the exact figures you need to figure how much damage increase 500AP would be of your overall top end damage, work out the percentage increase that it is and then use that figure to work out what the real % damage increase is.
For example, lets say a warrior has 500 AP and your top end weapon damage is 200 in this gear.
Lets also say that 500 AP would equate to being 40% of your top end weapon damage, which would equal 80 weapon damage.
you then have to take 500 AP, divide it by 40 which gives you 12.5.
From here, you need to figure out 12.5% of 80 damage which is 6.4 top end damage.
So in this hypathetical example, you would be comparing 5-6% crit to 6.4 top end weapon damage.
For accurate results, log a geared warrior that has both sets and follow this method and post back for it to be black and white exacts.
