Have they ever been a bad class to roll at 20?

They were pretty weak in WoD across the board.

It depends on whether or not you're talking about BGs, World PvP, 2's, or 3's.

With the right team, a Warlock made sense at 20 in WoD, but as an individual, like most players in the bracket are, Warlocks have frequently been one of the underperformers at low-level PvP brackets.

Affliction is really good right now, and it's mind numbingly easy to play.

Warlocks are in a good spot right now. Not too strong, not weak. I'd say it's below top tier, if not top tier.

Giver a try! You could whip up a new Warlock in just a few hours and be BG viable almost immediately!

I'm glad shadowburn was nerfed, it was pretty silly. The nerf to conflagrate that made it 1 charge in 7.1, not so much.

Nope. I've been playing destro since forever. They remained strong in WOD, just less interesting to play (like rogues).

Great advice!
It takes some getting used to, but can be quite powerful. SO. MUCH. FUN!!
I think I'll stick with demo for a while.

I know this is almost 2 weeks later but in the blizzard hot fix for the 15th Nov it says under PvP changed

• Destruction: Chaos Bolt damage bonus against players increased to 35% (was previously increased by 20%)

So does this affect low level PvP as well? Meaning chaos bolt will hit even harder?
I might have to change spec from affliction to destro.

Honestly no idea, I've been playing affliction exclusively but apparently a decent amount and a 15% buff to destros hardest hitting ability is nothing to sneeze at.
