Indeed. Bring some usefulness with that Fear.

Of course, maybe the advantage is in having targeted fear (though lolchastise/loldominatemind...). But the damage output is less than stellar. I too would lean towards a hunter or holy priest for comp at this level.

The point is that if you have two non retard mage/locks in skype you can keep two enemies fully locked down whether on O or D just by switching off focus targets every nine seconds.

Sure if you are playing against people without trinkets, dispels, interrupts, LoS, CC and/or you don't sneeze/look at the fear/sheep.

But druids are immune to polymorph so that cancels mages out.
Or I can run two protection paladins without skype with 700-800 more hp, who can also keep more than 2 casters and healers locked down or someone locked every minute for 6 seconds with just a HoJ and achieve the same effect.I wouldnt even need chat Did I also mention arcane torrent or warstomp and Avengers is also a Smart Spell - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft and does tremedous amounts of unblockable damage?

I also get all these bubbles and lay on hands or if I choose holy then the target can never land a critical hit on me.

In a scenario both sides are even say alliance is holed up nice and tight,I play tauren and my friend plays belf for more CC two paladins can simply bubble , run in with our speeds of light , create a confusion ..the defenders cant damage us, we both can be iimmune and use our silences and CCs, then a rogue jumps, all it takes is 3 people. ,paladin can turn the tide of a game.

Moral of the story. Just run 2 protection paladins, it wont matter the bgs are filled with druid/paladin/rogue.

hmm mage spamming arcane explosion leaves stealthies in a bit of trouble. Also careful positioning can render a paladin's bubble, AV, SoL ineffective compared to poor positioning. Imagine getting sheeped or feared by the entrance to where the fc is located. If not you then your allies getting sheeped-feared.
 
i love how androlleck is trying to find a warlock and how this thread went bonkers. We are all trying to say whats best when he only wants a warlock but keep going with this. It's is hilarious.

You could but then you're playing 9v10 for the duration of MC. The point is that it takes two seconds at most (including juking) to alternate Fear and Sheep on two healers.

No shit people have interrupts. If I were androlleck's team I would WANT them to use them on useless shit like fear and sheep. As far as LoS goes, go for it. Interrupt your own cast and waste two seconds that you could spend healing on running behind a pillar. That's the whole point. Besides, I consider myself a decent shaman and I know for a fact I would find it hard to perfectly LoS and keep track of Fears/Sheep incoming to me when I have to worry about juking their rogue, dispelling my team, purging enemy agms/buffs/whatever else and healing the fc. Eventually I need to prioritize and that's why the mage lock cc is useful. More pressure, more slip ups. Also interrupts are easy to avoid as ranged as long as you're not an idiot with positioning (especially if the mage is frost). I also can't really imagine what interrupts would be on D besides shear and CS and maybe bloodelf silences/warstomps - one of which has a 23 second cd (and should really be used to drop their healers) and with the other two that need to be in melee range for thus (assuming you as the caster aren't bad) they would need to drastically change position for. Also, not even going to start on Publicenemy's rant which really just shows poor basic understanding of the context that this is in.

edit: btw shamans are priority cc targets so dispels are out of the way
 
Are you recruiting in general? I would like to make a f2p twink, any class is fine. The only problem is it might take me a little while.

Yeah, I felt guilty b/c of that. But I was curious why someone would really really want a warlock (and I guess I wanted to vent frustration over the redesigned locks).

I only pug, and I don't have skype. So . . . now I see that a lock/mage combo might be better than mage/whatever combo if there's coordination/communication. In pugs, Im far more effective as a mage than as a lock (even though my mages aren't geared as well as my lock. and the mages (alliance) generally don't get the heals that the (horde) locks get.



i still don't see how, in the above scenarios, a mage paired with a shaman, BM hunter, priest ... wouldn't be better than lock..

yes I am and im currently looking for a lock for our A team for control fears to match our mages sheeps... message me privately if u wanna talk more my thread got blown up with the lack of knowledge that is 90% of TI
 

I understand were he is coming from, wants to bring some uniquiness to his team, and you are pointing out that warlocks and squishy classes work. Ofcourse they do in a coordinated premade with callouts when you are using teammates as cover.

But a protection paladin does it better and can dps. Dont you see..all the 24s even have figured it out,every 24 ''twink'' guild is full of rogues paladins and druids.Even 24s know whats up and yet you are still stuck up on this positioning and juking crap. Its all about the class.Prot paladin is the ultimate CCer in this bracket.

You know I can get defensive too, grats you are better than me in a video game, Im sorry I do not play enough nor care that hardcore like some of the 19s with ''of the horde '' or ''the bloodthirsty'' or whatever #hks. Casual at most.
 
it isn't about variety or uniqueness its about whats best people just don't understand that between a mage and lock you can literally hold someone down with cc for up to 20 sec and that's two people at a time.. that being said 24s mean absolutely nothing and this thread should honestly acknowledge that. for the past month and a half ive been busting my rear to gather a dedicated 10 man premade team of 20s to take on swagcleavics 10 man team horde side.. theres no easier way to say it then that. I didn't make this thread for a discussion of whos right about locks what kinda damage they do or if trololol priest fears are better??? which btw they aren't even close just saying. so plz im asking everyone stick to topic at hand its important to me and the whole team is looking to me as their leader to find our missing link.

I've never seen a prot do as much dps as I on my lock nor seen one so powerfull to actually kill me without some sort of help or do the amounts of cc you can do with demo, they even have aoe kite. Rogues might get the opener and crit me with evi and get me to low health but pressing dark generation combined with a healthstone and leap folowed by kite then rogues should run for their lives. But I guess i haven't figured out what is up at 24 and just like to play it cause they are squishy and suck :(
