I've been trying to detective this myself because he wont tell because he doesn't want the info out there yet he'll publicly post it to what is likely one of the most viewed piece of WoW veteran related content online I guess. xd
My first instinct was to just straight up check the vendors in Stormshield, obviously the items were 100 and level locked (wouldn't even let my buy the 100 versions on my 20,) but I had to start somewhere. So I checked WoWhead next. This item (Primal Gladiator's Plate Shoulders to be exact) is not recorded to drop off of anything, can only be bought from a vendor (according to WoWhead.)
In other words, I'm pretty much stumped. I have a few outlandish theories.
- This one is more unlikely of the two, and I'm not even sure it's possible (I don't think it is,) but a high level toon on the same account buying them and trading them under a two hour window. I'll admit this seems highly unlikely but I'm grasping at straws here.
- This is the one I'm betting on atm. Maybe during WoD timewalking all gear vendors in the area function under the same properties as the TW quartermasters themselves? During WoD timewalking the quartermaster is in Stormshield, and I doubt anyone checked to be like: "Hey, I wonder if the PvP gear is timewarped right now too?"
I tried looking online but I couldn't find anything along the lines of a "Timewarped Warlords Season 1."
