Yeah sadly it does sometimes, and it shouldnt. That doesnt mean we should increase the amount of ‘rights’ (if u can call it that) that can be taken away from us

Re-read what I said, a representative democracy doesnt GUARANTEE competence, it creates some level of competence. Its still waaaay better than the idiotic masses directly choosing who they want

Sort of a massive flaw in your logic, seeing as these rights are supposedly within the fabric of our existence. Get real, grow up, the only thing promised is death and taxes and even that could change if we don't go extinct first.

Yeah exactly, they’re in the fabric of our existence. The govt doesnt give us those rights, but it must respect those rights. The constitution’s amendments are for the govt to follow, the constitution is meant to chain down the govt (which is why this current idea of ‘interpreting’ the constitution is really dangerous)

There is literally zero evidence for this empirical or otherwise. Not only that but it is also self evident that this philosophy has been one of the corner stones of a system of colonialism, imperialism, genocide, and oppression. It's clear that this line of thought does nothing but limit and degrade our conception of human life as well as it's sanctity.

Someone should tell Jefferson these chains have gotten a bit loose

Forgive me for trying to have a conversation of substance and caring about the 20m+ estimated dead people since WW2 caused by capitalism. Your lack of attention to the core of these issues we're facing and discussing is disturbing.
