RIP mvq. I honestly have no idea what just happened.

Idk what's funnier. The damage or the fact that it was mvq.

In all seriousness though, it's not a bug.

Your Corruption ticked for 45
It has 7 ticks with an additional partial depending on haste, doesn't really matter.
45*7=315

315=2.10*int
This person had around 150 int.

UA does 320% of your spell power over 8 seconds and lets say they dispelled immediately.
150*3.2=480
480 damage total * 200%=960

Lets assume it crit, so *1.5
It should have hit for 1,440

Unless you had tons of stacks, not sure how that works... I say bugged? It hit for 4082.

I think I did all that right...

so one UA would do ~1440 crit, can we assume this was ~3 UA's on one target being dispelled (the missing 300ish dmg could account for the cast time?)

Its not a bug, we tested it the day before - if you stack UAs on a Target the dispell will literally oneshot. Yesterday on a 20 Warlock (World PvP) tested it with 5 Stacks and it hit for 2.8k.

Cheers
might not be a bug, just an oversight on the new UA system, wouldnt be the first time blizz changes stuff and cba to think of consequences

Follow up:

Here is my UA damage increases
2nd cast increase: 39% to 60%
3rd cast increase: 29% to 39%
4th cast increase: 16% to 23%
5th cast increase: 15.5%

So overall from a single cast UA dot of 56 in my testing to a 5th cast 156 that's a 278% increase.

Ok it's possible with a 5 cast UA dispell. 1440*2.78=4011

How many UA's did you chain on the target that was dispelled ??

I could see blizz letting the amount of UA u dump on 1 target double the dispel dmg, pr UA, prob not intentional
Yea, I always chain my UAs on primary target for the major dmg. Guess it's even more dmg with the dispel dmg increasing as well.

I'll get back to you on how much Int I actually have in BGs to help with the math, but, as others have posted by now, it was not a bug.

As @Mol and @Caldalt have confirmed, it's not a bug. I posted this before actually reading the tooltip of UA. Stupid me :p.

The tooltip reads "Afflicts the target with (320% of Spell power) Shadow damage over 8 sec. Multiple casts accumulate increased damage. If dispelled, deals 200% of its remaining damage to the dispeller and silences them for 4 sec. Refunds 1 Soul Shard if the target dies before 8 sec have elapsed."

It seems pretty clear from the tooltip that the accumulated increase in damage from the multiple casts would affect the dispel damage as well because the dispel damage is double the remaining damage. This also seems to suggest that the earlier someone dispels your UA, the more damage it would do because there would be more damage remaining.

Man, it is a fun time to play an Aff Lock. ;)
