[Underbog] Viable mail gear alternative

Soo... apparently it isn't that common knowleadge, but you can get decent Mail Chest and Legs from TBC's Underbog:
Shamblehide Chestguard
Barbaric Legstraps

Both of those are rare (blue) 3 gem slots with Cirt and Haste stats.
Since it's mail with AGI/ INT stat it only applies to Shamans and Hunters.

How do they compare to WF gear tho?
Chest:
Warforged (ilv62 / lv11):
9 Main Stat (AGI/INT) and ~18 Secondary Stats
Shamblehide Chestguard (ilv36 / lv11): 4 Main Stat and 8 Secondary Stat (4 Haste, 4 Crit), but... there are 3 gem slots (+2 Main Stat and +2 Secondary each) and due to low ilvl you can use Peerless Stats (+3 all stats) enchant, effectively making it
13* Main Stat and 14 Secondary (with 6 of it being completely flexible).
* - (not included) +1 Agility Socket Bonus

Legs:
Warforged (ilv62 / lv11):
9 Main Stat and 13 Secondary Stats
Barbaric Legstraps (ilv36 / lv11): 4 Main Stat and 8 Secondary Stat (3 Crit, 5 Haste), 3 slots. Also allowing enchants like: Primal Leg Reinforcements (1 Agi, 1 Crit), Master's Spellthread (1 Int, 1 Crit), Sanctified Spellthread (1 Int, 1 Vers). Total stats:
11* Main Stat and 15 Secondary Stat.
* - (not included) +1 Intellect Socket Bonus

Underbog Skip

1st off... you CAN skip the 1st boss totally, just by hugging left side of the cliff.

The red arrow is where the skip is. You can do it by:

• Hunter's Disengage skill by jumping off the cliff and mid jump rotating 180° and then using skill (c'on... as a hunter you should know how to do it);
• Goblin's racial (one of Horde races that can be shamans) Rocket Jump;
• or if you are non-Goblin Shaman you actually can do it just with enough speed (at least 170%) and our trusty ol' Parachute Flexweave Underlay. Consider using Swiftness Potion if you are too slow (insert Sonic meme here).

Bonuses of this skip + dungeon to farm

• You get Cenarion Expedition and Sporeggar reps by killing mobs and bosses in this dungeon.
• You will annoy any Fury Warrior Twinks you sometimes run into who want to farm Hatebringer, as you skip Ghaz'an and after killing last boss dungeon will be marked as completed, making all other members leave the warrior by himself mid-dungeon.
• Sometimes other party members will try to do the ledge jump skip without knowing how, resulting in them falling into water bellow with funny fishes (Underbog Frenzy) which will obliterate them in seconds.

Disclaimer
I only tried this skip on my fully geared twink. I don't know how viable soloing last boss would be to undergeared players, but for reference, it takes me sub-3 min to do it with killing trash and 1st boss to make sure no1 in party will die before I jump:

For those that can get it, how does azerite gear from BFA compare?

For 20s it’s a major main stat increase. Minor stam lost and total loss of secondaries

Can you even get azerite gear at 20? I dont think I have ever seen it drop before. Also my lvl 15 hunter uses shamblehide chest wyrmscale leggings and desolation shoulders since I can enchant all three. Might replace the shoulders with warforged haste mastery or vers matery though.

I figured you were doing something when I encountered you on my fury. This was hilarious to read knowing I was in most of those runs.
Although I wasn't worried about soloing the rest and continue to farm the Hatebringer which I did end up getting after roughly 25 runs.

You need the neck in order to see Azerite items.
the neck cant be equipped anymore but having it in bags enables the drops. However since it's not equipped you cannot select the traits.
the neck is level scaled and will not increase in ilvl regardless of rank.

there have been interviews with the dev lead about making Azerite and artifact systems evergreen one day. So stay tuned for that in 8 years or so lol.

The lack of secondary stats probably wouldn't justify a bit more of main stat anyway, so no big loss here.
