    >>> Coolzo's "The War Within" Level 70s Gearing Guide <<<
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Most of us know about grandfathered season 4 epics and even the fabled 567s; this guide isn't about that (mentioned out of necessity).

This is intended to be a reference for all pre-existing and fresh level 70s that do not have the expansion and wish to expand their character. But also...

I believe 70s to be a great high-level alternative for running scaled PvE content such as Timewalking or Normal dungeons, even with relatively basic gear available in "Dragonflight" content. This baseline gear can be acquired within a week.

If you like having a lot of buttons to press, 70s may be for you.
If you like access to more challenging content as well, 70s may be for you.
If you like having access to lots of content in general on a strong character, you're covered.

70s also have easy access to a big chunk of secondary stat points.
Good news if you like the feel of 40-50% haste or oodles of mastery!

It *can* potentially be comparable to a 10/11, but IMHO, YMMV, etc.

And if you like PvP, please still queue PvP after you get geared. More pops=more better.

NOTE: YOU CANNOT LOCK XP AT 70. YOU MUST BE ON, OR TRANSFER TO, A DF ACCOUNT.
    *******************************************************************************************************************
*Yes, you can currently transfer from TWW to a DF account, despite Blizzard's documentation, but this may not always be the case.
If on TWW, you may use honor to purchase mats that you can use to recraft the trinkets mentioned in the guide, for slightly more power.
I have chosen not to cover this in the general guide itself.*
    *****************************************************************************************************************************************

Once again, the guide is linked in the arrow spam above. By request (and the inspiration of Beti's 10s Guide), it was created in Google Sites.

Okay, here's your newest popular armory layout semi copy-pasta'd and slightly edited below:

How to get your toon listed
If you would like to have your character added to this list please post a reply with an armory link.
The armory link must be in English
    It must be your character(s)
It must be decently geared. This is considered baseline.
Please reference the guide if you're unsure of how to acquire the above.

    Inspired by Conzil's F2P/Vet Armory...
70s that do not have grandfathered gear will be highlighted in green.
I will not be excluding grandfathered gear, rest assured.

While it wont really help anyone trying to make a new 70, and there is nothing all that unique or special about my setup, other than a few tert procs, I did manage to get a full set before they became near impossible, or at least prohibitively expensive to obtain.
Can you elaborate on this? I don't know the story behind 70 twinks. What's the deal with this armor? It used to drop? It no longer drops? Or it's super-rare? Was it something that dropped for 80s but had no level requirement?

Is it still possible to farm 545 BOE gear?
no. the pieces still show up on the AH but are priced 400k or more. basically a handful of players bought them all up and instead of helping others gear they resell them for a profit. its the same players who kept the 567 process a secret and are the same players who gy farm the community members.

So you inspired me to gear up some of my 70's. I farmed a few splintered sparks (4) from DOTI. They don't show up in Currency or my bag, so I used a script

    /run a=C_CurrencyInfo.GetCurrencyInfo(2800) print("You have earned " .. a.totalEarned .. " of " .. a.maxQuantity .. " possible Splintered Sparks of Awakening")

I went looking around Valdrakken for the Forge of Sparks so I could combine them but couldn't find it. Googled, chatGPT'd, youtubed, etc. No Luck. Spent longer trying to find out how to combine them then to actually get them. :(

I camped out in the Crafting Order area.

I'm probably missing something obvious but... where is the Forge of Sparks? That is how you combine them, right?

Hello, glad the guide inspired you!

You just want to right click the Splintered Spark of Awakening in your bag. If you have at least two, it'll combine those two into a full Spark of Awakening. There is no "forge", or anything. You may be thinking of the Creation Catalyst used to create tier pieces from epic non-crafted gear.

EDIT: It occurs to me that you must be thinking back to the way Sparks of Ingenuity were acquired in Season 1 of DF. Yeah, they changed the method a bit in season 2 onwards haha. There WAS a "Forge of Ingenuity" back then, but that hasn't been relevant at all since S2.

They don't show up in Currency or my bag
They count as crafting reagents even before they are combined, so by default, they go into your reagent bag, not your regular bags.

EDIT: alternatively, you could try this hack as a macro:
    Code:
    #showtooltip
    /use item:211515

    Ok, guys, small update.

@drake178 and I have confirmed, with the help of @OnthroX 's macro, that each toon can only earn 15 total Spark of Awakening for their lifetime. That's 30x Splintered Spark of Awakening. So, use discretion when spending your sparks if you want multiple sets. Of course, you can still use the "recrafting" feature of crafting orders as many times as you like.

If you wish to verify how many sparks you've earned, you may use the macro below:
    /run a=C_CurrencyInfo.GetCurrencyInfo(2800) print("You have earned " .. a.totalEarned .. " of " .. a.maxQuantity .. " possible Splintered Sparks of Awakening")

This information will be noted in the guide.

It will not be quite as fast as a 10/11, but plenty fast enough IMHO, YMMV, etc.

is there still a community for running raids dedicated to 70’s? a weekly run schedule would help with gearing.
There's still the old in-game horde comm for 50s/60s/now 70s, I'm not sure if there's an alliance one still. I've seen a number of runs posted there. Although this time around, our BiS gear (besides 545s) is entirely from dungeons.

Would be amazing to have something like scheduled DOTI hard mode runs. Sadly my occupation is such that I can't personally commit to a set schedule, though.
    ...............................................................................................................................................

Updated the guide with some info on world events which I neglected to notice the first time.
480 loot caches are on a rotation based on the season the event came from (1 2 or 3). There seems to be a fourth week where all 9 events are dropping caches, but still testing the theory (this is based on the fact that I actually received all 9 caches in one week when I initially tested post-TWW)
