Twinking is back (bye bye templates)

My interpretation was that both item level and stats mattered... strange. Im very curious how they intend to take this.

100% thought I was in the beginning of the end of my twink experience but this could potentially bring me back to playing twinks more. Much more.
 
The discussion about the template start on this exact time (42:48):

Templates gone. Can stack whatever stats you want. They want to bring back trinket options, so presumably all pve trinkets will work. Not sure if enchants work or not.

The way I understood it, was that the template stays. They put emphasis on gear mattering (in terms of ilvl), and that you will be able to customize on stats (crit, haste, mastery etc.). However, this doesn't sound like they are removing the template as if it was never there, but merely adding customization to it. I did like that they said that trinkets will be usable though.

Classes have always had "templates". In Legion we lost almost all of our customization. Now they want to bring back some of it, just not all of it.

Balancing this game was and never will be a simple task. They know what they did with Legion has created a massive gap between a "noob" and a more experienced player. Whether they intended for this to happen or not won't change the fact.

If they brought back the original system, some of us would 1v10 BGs..
 
Regardless how this turns out, it already sounds like it will be better than the shit that’s legion pvp gearing

I interpreted it that he seemed genuine that he knew they fucked up. He even said they realized after implementing it they knew they had messed up instanced Pvp. Since this expansion is a pvp expansion, I really think they are going to change pvp back to original state. I have a feeling that they will do how they did in wod, the here gear scaled in arenas, but instead of low Ilvl pieces scaleing up, I believe your Ilvl if over the ceiling as it is in legion will grant you more stats etc. while still maintaining our armor and gem/enchant choice.

I mean, it's not fun if you don't really put much effort into gearing.

I personally dislike the gap in power that WF invasion gear has, but it's really not too far off from someone who has full BG blues, enchants, BoE gloves with 9 stam enchant, etc.

For example, my lvl 20 shaman is damn-near on par with many warforged invasion twinks. And it just has traditional twink gear

The casuals will whine, but those who put effort into gearing and play with the right people will find plenty of gratification. Survival of the fittest.

Well let’s see, most brackets require a lot of money and work to be that much more powerful than the others. Everyone playing had and has the same opportunity to get the gear and enchants required to be as strong as possible. How is it not fun to be able to take full advantage of something many spent hours, days even months farming for
 
They mentioned they wanted to bring back picking what stats you used in pvp legit when they started mentioning bfa, why is everyone hyped about it now
