Trying to figure out which trait to use since 50% PvP nerf (Fury)

Hey guys since the 50% pvp nerf I'm unsure on what traits I should use. I've been experimenting with different combinations and I can't make my mind. I'm far from a pro fury player but I'd like to min/max to put all chances on my side. I'd like you guys input. Here are my options:

Head slot: (28 armor, 37 str, 60 stam for the 15 ilvl)
#1 ilvl 285 Bloodrite or Reckless fury + Vampiric seed or longstrider
#2 ilvl 300 Cold steel or Secrets if the deep + Resounding protection or Longstrider
#3 ilvl 285 Gathering Storm or Unbridled ferocity or Rezan's fury + Impassive visage or Gemhide
#4 ilvl 285 Gathering Storm or Unbridled ferocity or Rezan's fury + Longstrider or Self reliance

Shoulder slot: (26 armor, 27 str, 44 stam for the 15 ilvl)
#1 ilvl 285 Bloodrite or Gathering storm or Unbridled ferocity + Resounding protection or Gem hide
#2 ilvl 300 Gathering storm or Thunderous blast or Cold steel + Bulwark of the masses or Longstrider

Chest slot: (36 armor, 37 str, 60 stam for the 15 ilvl)
#1 ilvl 300 Swirling sand or Unbridled ferocity + Resounding protection or Self reliance
#2 ilvl 285 Gathering storm or Thunderous blast or Infinite fury + Vampiric seed or gemhide
#3 ilvl 300 Sylvana's resolve or Pulverizing blow or Gathering storm + Resounding protection or Bulwark of the masses
#4 ilvl 285 Unbridled ferocity or Champion of Azeroth + Impassive visage or longstrider
#5 ilvl 285 Pulverizing blow or Incite the pack + Vampiric seed or Longstrider
#6 ilvl 285 Gathering Storm or Infinite fury or Thunderous blast + Vampiric seed or Gemhide

I messed up the order of the quest chain as I was going to go full prot but it's kinda just meh in this bracket. What do you guys think?

One spot reckless fury is really good, but unbridaun ferocity is the best single point imo. Rezans Fury is probably the best generic tier 3 and bury the hatchet is your best tier 1, but you can probably on get one good piece with it. Go for resounding protection otherwise. You have to be tricky to get all of em though. Check out my signature for a reference 119 fury.

Odds are they'll just flippantly change whatever you pick in two weeks anyway, dont get too hung up on it.

edit- once they stop "tuning" traits then i'd worry about it, what you pick now wont likely be the same later.

This is my post 8.1 musings, but pre-50% nerf - https://xpoff.com/threads/110-111-fury-gear-crafting.81323/#post-1132427

Basically, aiming at super boosting rampage with legendary legs. https://www.wowhead.com/spell=288056/unbridled-ferocity and https://www.wowhead.com/spell=288080/cold-steel-hot-blood and simmering rage. Rezan's fury is an option too.

I haven't looked at what exactly will be hit by the 50% nerf - but I think it was focusing on tuning damage numbers, not proc rates or such. I expect https://www.wowhead.com/spell=288056/unbridled-ferocity will remain good because of the recklessness procs. Likewise, https://www.wowhead.com/spell=288080/cold-steel-hot-blood will prob generate rage the same, and the leeching bleed is still damage and healing. Simmering rage will still generate more rage. Reckless flurry damage is really meh, but the recklessness CD reduction might be interesting. From a PVE perspective, I think the reckless flurry nerf is being undone and replaced with the pvp 50% nerf - so it might be a viable option as well (prob instead of simmering rage).

I know that's why I quit endgame. Everytime I'm working on getting my third BIS trait on my main it gets nerfed. But at least with 110 I got all gear I can have and can't change it so it's just a matter of switching to FOTM after a nerf

Thx for the guide. Too bad I had in mind going Prot when I got all my azerite pieces. To maximize Ilvl I could do Cold Steel x 2 and Unbridled x1. Do you think that would be allright? Cold steel would only be leeching 2000 in pvp with the 50% nerf. Doesn't seem too too good? and does the rage generation stack?

With only 4 possible ilvl 300 pieces, it'll be pretty hard to get gear for both. See what pieces overlap with generic traits (rezans fury, thunderous blast, etc) and which ones can be respecced between good spec traits. You may have to accept that a 285 piece with the right trait may be a better option than a 300 ilvl piece with a secondary trait (especially when looking at 2 specs).

Cold steel does stack with itself afaik, though I'm not sure how good it is for only rage generation. Reckless flurry is usually a 10% cooldown reduction on recklessness in pve - not sure how accurate or useful that would be in pvp. In general, I'm not sure on the best pvp traits, and don't know how much the pvp traits on the warcampaign trait might be worth, as they aren't great in pve usually.
