Truth about 3.1

I think I'd like to see this come to pass actually. I've got my share of expensive stuff, but I'd rather see more even competition, especially in pugs, now that I've grown tired of rolling them. >.>

That said, this thread should be in the tavern, it's not just about 19s. =P

you can't roll pugs all the time, depending on which faction is doing better.

i pug all the time, to get competition.. or at least challenging games, i can just switch toons :)

Interesting thought, but I doubt it will happen. I just don't see a good reason for doing this. My guess is that the glitches with leg armor (and maybe shoulder armor) are accidents.

@lashy: the reason is simple....they want BoA's to be enchantable with BC and WotLK enchants on high levels, but not on low levels...this is a simple solution: change all enchants so that they work based on character lvl not item level....unfortunately for twinks, most enchants we use are WAY higher than our item lvl

@jaydyn: u seem to be missinterpretting this thread...this will make it so that u have to run around in enchants that are intended for lvl 39s....there arent even viable wep enchants intended for under 50 except firey....there will be 19s with +2 beastslaying to wep just so it glows....this will make ur pugs more competitive, because it will make u only slightly better than a regular old player....if this is true most 19s wont even break 1000 hp....not to mention that most lvling enchants are stats, so casters will be completely usless....every low bracket (maybe 39s) will be reduced to hunters and rogues rolling around BGs with a slight advantage and being called "twinks"

im not saying this WILL happen...but it is a good theory that explains the changes....im waiting on the blue text and praying for it to not happen, but if it does, this isnt anything to be happy about...this will be the final end to twinking

and nobody try the "blizzard isnt dumb enough to alienate twinks" arguement on me...they alrdy have displayed they dont care about twinking....and be honest with urselves, how many of u would quit if u could no longer twink? i personally would because i dont even have an 80 and i dont really enjoy wow endgame...however i doubt very many of u will quit wowcrack over twinks....most of have mains that u'll "give a chance" and then get addicted to

I honestly do not care what they do to anything, But at least let us keep the legs...

this will be the final end to twinking

No matter what they do to anything, There will always be players in the game considered a twink.

get rid of every enchant in the game, And to be named a twink, all it would rely on is a +1 increase in armor, or even 0.1 of a DPS in a weapon. Think about it. There will always be twinks in this game whether they are good or not.

I think its an interesting (and rather unsettling if it does happen) theory. But while Blizz doesn't support Twinks (Although they really never said this, they neither care nor hate twinks, but indirectly they can help or hurt twinks) they do support leveling. Slapping chants on a lowbie is a good way to help level your character and slapping end-game (if that is the correct term) helps the leveling process even more.

While I could see this happening, I do not think Blizz would be this cruel. Although ...

As mentioned above, Blizzard really doesn't care, So long as they make money, They couldn't give a rats ass about us.

I'm not sure if Blizzard cares or not. I at least think Blizzard cares a little bit about what we customers care about, because that's how they get their money. I think they care more about complaints and such though. Like, n00b: "dis lvl 19 had liek 10k hp n fukn 1shotted me i quit wow" Blizzard: "Let's nerf twinks! :D" Not really, but I do think Blizzard pays a lot more attention to complaints. I dunno, I'm not sure about Blizzard most of the time. A lot of the time they act hypocritically, conversely, or just downright strangely.

Don't demonize someone or a group just because they're solely motivated by profit. We should all feel lucky someone found it profitable to create a great game like WoW in the first place.

Blizzard is having to face competition with the new Warhammer MMO and still LOTRO. I think they're figuring out that the best way to stay competitive is to try retaining customers. Personally I think Blizzard has a new attitude towards low-level pvp. Even if they screw up a couple things at first it means our foot is finally in the door.

Well at least you're an optimist. ;)

as always :)

For all my bitching I always have confidence the future can be better. I just see it as a question of how.

Tetox may be right, take a look at this new spell.

Chant.jpg

I doubt that the bottom part means that the character enchanting the weapon must be that level, I think for the chant to go off you need to be that level or higher. No other spell is currently marked like this.

seriously, tetox, i think you are over reacting !

these changes are not going to kill twinking and we're not about to end with that small of a difference.

the one who said 90% of blizz not knowing what theya re doing is overexagerating as well. they create the game, its the inverse actually 90% of what they do is logical, and perfectly well placed. the remaining 10% is what you focus too much on !

create a game for yourself, see how well you can't be better then them on this, believe me i've tryed. its way harder then it looks to create and maintain a game then it looks.

Hmm... That actually makes me worried that they may be converting enchants by a level type system. I just can't see Blizzard doing this though...

I think we should stop talking about 3.1 all the time, so damn many threads about it now xD And as many people has said before me, time will tell :p

Agreed, haha. I mean seriously, why are there so many topics basically the same? >< AND NO ONE WILL KNOW FOR SURE UNTIL 3.1. So stop saying you know!

i don't get why nerfing enchants is a bad thing.

it will make pug games MORE competitive. that's not a bad thing. unless if your intentions are to kill random pugs.

The new blade ward spell is imo just like how executioner required level 60 unlike all the other bc enchants, its just blizzard sneaking in that one oddball enchant requirement again.

I guess, but if they have the power to (and they obviously used it on +100 HP to chest) they won't hesitate to go forward with changing how enchants work. Now, I don't play anymore so I really can not say much, but I played long enough to know (and read enough on the forums) what is going on. I am not mad about the change, (if this is to happen) just disappointed. This may be an attempt to force players to level up to acquire not only gear, but chants. This will either destroy the twink community (not in a 'Twinking is dead', but lots of players will leave the format of play) or create an uproar in the community which will then oppose Blizz in an attempt to be heard. (LONG LIVE WoW!)

I for one, hope for the latter to happen. Over the years of playing WoW I have heard many suggestions and complaints. While players would spend all day on the forums asking for new content, nerfs to CLASS, buffs to CLASS, an XP toggle feature, ETC, ETC ... I never really saw anyone take action. Sure, Blizz may come along now and then and snatch up an idea from the forums (Suggestions like: AHs in every major city, are a good example of this) and WoW had a 'Golden Age' (so to speak) pre-WotLK with Blues like GhostCrawler. Now, I am not asking for you to walk into Blizz HQ and shoot up the place, (trust me, you wouldn't make it through the front door if you attempted this feat) but the community needs to really stand up together and become one voice. Drayner is a prime example of someone who could lead the revolution; his Open Letter to Blizz topic stirred some attention on the forums, but several comments made only discouraged the main point of the topic and pushed the topic aside into the background.

The entire community (Twink, RP, PVE, or w/e you may be) needs to stand up as one. I read through the WoW forums and I am sickened by the fact that so many trolls linger about and yet they are being hypocritical. There are strength in numbers, but standing idle and not aiding the cause even though you agree with it does not help the changes go through. You pay 15$ a month (Not to mention the CDs for the original WoW and the two expansions) for a game that you like. I don't care what you do in the game, YOU are a member of the society and YOUR opinion should count.

Albeit, there are a lot of ridiculous request on the forums, but that should not hinder your will. The key thing is business is not what YOU want, but what your CUSTOMER wants. If your not happy with the latest patch, why should you even pay to play? That's like going out and spending your money on a bad video game and while you play it you nit-pick and complain the whole time. But WoW is always changing; that's probably why I stuck around so long, I was eager to see and play the next patch or expansion that was on the horizon.

YOU have the ability to change the game; while it is very courageous to go in alone, it doesn't hurt to have people on your side. This community has the numbers; you each have voices. Stand up to the tyranny and injustice that is bound to occur in the future. Revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall.

I don't care if you mock me or if you don't heed my call, I just hope that someone else picks up my gun and keeps on shooting. Metaphorically speaking.

I love killing random PuGs. :) And nerfing enchants is a hugely bad thing. Having pretty glowing weapon(s) is one of the main reasons I twink. :)

hey i never critisized bliz in this thread...and im not overreacting at all...im stating facts

1.) blizzard needs a way so that someone of any level can place level appropriate enchants on their BoAs, but not overpowered endgame enchants

2.) they dont care about twinks

3.) simple solution: enchants dont kick in until the player is of a proper level

this is a simple fix and completely goes with their philosophy...i read this on the forums and thought it was a valid theory so i shared it...

when i say: this will be the end of twinking....im not saying it will happen...im saying, that if it happens, twinks will basically suck so much that nobody will ever play them...its not worth making a 19 who has 200 more hp than a noob

i hope to god this doesnt happen and i dont necessarily think it will, but there is evidence for it so i shared it....its just a theory
