I was born there lol. I live at the hub of social justice warriors in the Pacific NW now. I was just in Big Springs TX last summer and it was similar to going whale watching only on dry land. The dumbing down of people here is being done on purpose. It used to be rebellious to drink, do drugs and engage in sexual combat; not anymore. We're definitely not at idiocracy levels yet though. There are plenty of people that value knowledge, taking care of yourself by exercising and being very cautious of what kind of food and medicines we use. You just have to be less pessimistic to find these people. Doomsaying sure as hell won't attract anyone that actually wants to make a difference, but suggesting solutions will if you're lucky enough to be noticed for it. Defeatism doesn't attract the intelligent. This reply is too long. I digress.

Unfortunately suggesting solutions can bring the wrong kind of attention as well, that from the powers that be who don't want ANY positive change. The status quo is what they seek, and they expect the Sheeples to obey and tow the line, when we step out against the system, bad things can and have happened.

Information spreads too quickly now for them to be able to stop it. All they can do is counter it with misinformation. Assassination "conspiracy theories" pop up all the time now and everything is under a magnifying glass. Killing the guy that figured out how to make engines run on water wouldn't happen today because that information would spread quicker than a George Soros funded movement. You could look up how to make a diesel engine run on oil derived from the hemp seed right now and nobody would get whacked.
People that fuck up their own brains and destroy their own lives won't be around as long. My favorite part about Darwinism has always been natural selection. Survival of the fittest. The fat, microwavable meal eating, bud-light guzzling, pill-popping Americans will not outlast the ones that are sharp and aware of what's going on. The people are waking up.

Hey, I wouldn't normally get involved in these kind of threads. It basically is just a bunch of people shitposting, and I tend to try to ignore that.
However, this is something that I've based a bunch of my life around, so I figure I would contribute what little I have.
A bit of my backstory - I recently completed a Masters in Political Science; I've interned for State Government officials; I've been a staff member for successful campaigns for the United States House of Representatives; I'm currently working for a Lobbying (yes, lobbying
) firm in my state's capitol; I plan to go to Law School and have recently been accepted to a rather nice one in my state.
Needless to say, Politics is really important to me, and that is partly why I'm making this post.
Almost none of the posts here have anything resembling a factual argument with evidence based points. Most of the information you guys have been privy to is recycled around the internet because it connects really well with people who have no idea what is going on around them. Just because something seems to fit well with your world view, does not make it true. In fact, it almost certainly guarantees that it is false. You should never receive new information that fully supports your old worldview. That's not how life works, and it's not how Politics works.
The purpose of this post is to warn against turning your online media interactions into echo boxes. That only serves to make all of you collectively simpler in your views of the world.
Donald Trump isn't able to be condensed into a narrative of a failed businessman who relied on rednecks to win the primary. Such a mindset would be short-sighted, and would fail to account for the way he appeals to a large part of the nation's genuine fears over changes they perceive to be bad.
Hillary Clinton isn't able to be condensed into a narrative of a corrupt politician who deserves to be in prison for her time as Secretary of State. Such a mindset would be short-sighted, and would fail to compare her actions to other Secretaries of State who have made similar decisions but were not major party candidates for president.
In short, if you think that your media is unbiased in its portrayal of the other candidate and is fully capable of judging their actions in its entirety, you are wrong.
There have been a lot of other cool discussion topics in this thread that I just don't have the time to respond to, such as what party system we should have to best represent our Republican Democracy - and even someone talking about Philosopher Kings as a Political System in and of itself (Plato, the author of this idea, wasn't actually so big on it himself by the way :O ).
Keep it up, but also don't mindlessly walk your way through Red/Blue propaganda please - think for yourself, and if something seems too simple to be true, it probably is!

Yes, but he is giving an WRONG image about removing Muslim people, because of the ISIS, i get that he wants to be aware but removing all muslima people is just wrong.
He also gives the impression about disliking China, Japan, etc.
If i would have to choose i'd say Hillary since DOnald will ruin America.

I agree not all Muslims are bad people, as you are aware I'm friends with a lot of them. But you can't distinguish the difference, and because of the mess previous presidents have done I.e destabilising Middle East.

I don't believe he has said anything about removing any Americans because of their religious beliefs. This is where misinformation comes into play. He wants to remove illegal aliens criminals. They are taxing an already taxed system. Costing the taxpayers billions of dollars. One of Mexico's largest incomes is money exported by Mexicans working in the US sending US dollars to the families back in Mexico. That is billions of dollars that is not being spent here helping our economy. This is something that can't be fixed overnight. Or even in a year, two year, or even five. But we have to start somewhere. The journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step.

The media has ran 91% negative coverage about Donald Trump while doing the opposite to Hillary Clinton.

All I did was google "negative Trump coverage" and literally thousands of articles came up. There was a study done and these were the results that were produced. I don't think anyone was surprised by the media bias.

Overt support from the KKK is not a media smear. Trump paints a negative picture of himself, needing no assistance.
It's astonishing what lengths his apologists go to. It reflects hatred/fear of the 'other' present in much of the electorate, but thinly veiled with claims of anti-political correctness. It's like a festering boil that Trump has lanced.
