Touch of the Void trinket

The Beast Within
Does anyone have any reliable information on how to obtain the Touch of the Void trinket?

I've started to see some Vet's with it, but I'm seeing mixed messages in Wowhead and other places.

I have one level 100 with a level 3 garrison, but no shipyard but I have not seen any of the new rare missions. I don't have much time left on my sub and I was wondering if there was any pre-requisites to obtaining these missions.

I am no where near the ilvl 675 which I hear people mentioning on certain forums, and I'm hoping I don't have to start the shipyard to obtain them. Is it just an RNG thing, and if I get lucky, I'll get it, or is there something more that needs to be done to get the rare mission.

Hope someone here on TI has experience with obtaining the Touch of the Void trinket.

Thanks is advance all :)

You need 3 followers with a 675 ilvl for the follower mission to have a chance to appear. I have it.

Once 1 of my followers got 675, I got the mission.

You can also obtain it through the Auction house.

No, you can infact not obtain it through the auction house. On the other hand you can obtain it from other players through trade as the satchel it comes in doesn't bind.

Hi Mrcer and Tiger.

Thanks for your response, but just wondering if the toon on which you obtained the mission on had an ilvl 675+, which is what I see some people reporting on various sites. I am really hoping you don't whcih would mean it's a straight RNG rare thingy I need to deal with and that's it. I don't have enough time, nor the motivation to gear my 100 to 675 to have a crack at this mission.

Cheers.

Your toon's gear doesn't matter lol. Your follower's ilvl has to be higher than 675.

My character's ilvl was over 700 at the time I got the mission. So I can't disprove it.

Isnt max ilvl 675 for followers? And I have had 20x 675 ilvl followers available since 6.2, and I havnt seen the mission yet.

I got it yesterday thru a person in trade for a pet. You must have 3 followers at 675 and be able to beat consuming the void mission.

The price via other Players is also steadily coming down. Saw someone asking in the low 20's iirc mid week. I tried to snatch one for 10K but the Player said I was a bit too low. To answer a few questions definitively:

- Your Garrison Followers must have 675 gear (at least 3 of them) in order to have a high enough success chance to actually complete the Mission The Consuming Void.
- The Void-Shrouded Satchel is not bound, the Trinket is in the Satchel and the moment you open the Satchel the Touch of the Void Trinket is BoA.
- Your Character's personal iLvL means nothing.
- It means absolutely nothing if you have (3) 675 Followers or (25), RNG is a cruel bitch to some and others' best friend. I have several Garrisons with many 675 Followers and haven't got this or ANY of the Rare Naval Missions for the new Rings since 6.2 hit. I did however get the Mount the first week and was lucky enough to sell it for 110K lol.
- 675 is in fact the maximum any Follower can achieve currently. Blizz decided not to increase their max with 6.2.

I went to another server traded person with satchel my caged pet with a my lvl 1 human hunter. Once traded, I learned it on my lvl 1 and it was thrown in my boa book instantly.

Then i sudden got huge buff inside my pants from the extra amazing swag factor, i had just obtained.

Despite what everybody are telling you here the missions do infact require your character being 675 or more, I was just below that on my hunter and paladin and I received the missions the minute I reached the said ilvl on both characters.
Completely false. I got this mission 2 days before 6.2 with only (3) 675 Followers on one of my 100's that has like ~640 iLvL gear even now. Granted before 6.2 it had a different reward than the Satchel, but the missions was the same.

The patch made the difference. There it no rng involved in WHEN you get one of the rare missions, only rng is WHICH mission you get. The rare missions are on an exact 1 week cooldown. That is why the amount of rare missions' items being sold is higher on Tue/Wed that any other day of the week.

While I certainly agree that Rares are likely on a weekly CD of sorts, care to link a Blue post saying that the specific Character must possess a 675+ equipped iLvL to back up your claim?

As far as I know blues haven't said a thing about this so you all just have to take my word for this. Trying it out yourselves would be the only way to actually convince you all I suppose.
Which is why I wondered if you read it on a Blue post or not. I personally have (2) 100's with over 675 that have a dozen or more 675 Followers each, LvL 3 Garrisons and LvL 3 Shipyards and I've never once seen a Rare Naval Mission and only once seen the quest we're talking about which was just prior to 6.2. At the same time, one of my Guild members got the Left Shark rare Naval Mission with a LvL 2 Shipyard and his gear was below 675 and he has 0 Followers even 650. I'm going to stick with your Character gear means nothing, and Rare Missions are RNG based, as that's what I've seen personally. They may well only spawn once per week as you say (seems reasonable) or more to point a maximum of once per week if all hidden Blizzard conditions are met. I'd be happy to change my stance on the matter if you or anyone else can provide a Blue post stating Character iLvL matters.

Edit: I'll even do a test this coming week. I'll use my 99 Twink which has currently a 644 equipped iLvL, only LvL 2 Garrison (obviously) and all 20 of her Followers are iLvL 600. I will upgrade at least (3) to 675 and see if after the next week's reset she gets any Rare Garrison missions. My relationship with RNJesus is horrible so I'm not going to hold my breathe lol.
