US Timewarp AP farm

I did a few on my 101 DK and noticed my 110s outperformed her. I'm still trying to figure out what gear is best to use for TW dungeons. I was told during the Northrend TWs that the legendary axe Frostmourne would be amazing so I used it on my 110 DK and the results were poor. I've got mixed responses but so far the best I have done is with high ilvl gear on my 110s.

101 Twink gear does shit in TW, except the Artifact Weapon. What you want is MAXIMUM Main Stat. So go get gear from TBC > MoP that has the highest (scaled to TW) Main Stat and max Sockets. Then toss +10 Main Stat from TBC or Cata in every single Socket (+12 for one Socket if you have Exalted TBC Rep and JC) and don't forget the Meta Gem. Then Enchant every single item with the highest scaling Main Stat and use your Artifact Weapon.

I didn't know these kinds of gear still worked for TW but that's fun! I wish they'd sell an armor set w/ an appropriate set bonus for each TW event.

One gear Set to rule them all. TW Twink Gear, even if it's from TBC, will scale UP to each TW Event. I logged out in my 110 Hunter's TW set, look at it to get an idea... FWIW, I can usually double anyone else in DPS during any TW Event.

Also, while the Guide is a bit outdated since Legion, you can check HERE to get an idea of what to equip for TW.

One thing to keep in mind for a TW set, this goes back to those of us who Twink very low Level Toons. You are literally looking for that final +1 Main Stat. If you are debating between 2 pcs of Gear and one gives a little more Tertiary than the other but has 1-2 less Main Stat, take the item with higher Main Stat for more DPS. Bear in mind this takes a ton of research due to Wowhead's scaling slider not being perfect. Take gear in your bags into a TW Dungeon and when it's over equip multiple set combos until you find that's it's just right.
 
In the past it used to be everything with maximum sockets = best.

Not sure how it is now, remember that set bonus from WoD and upwards still work, while others don't.
 
So to sum it all up, do Nelth farm. Especially if you have great 101 gear
4K per hour with perfect rng (2k average) is nothing to be messed with

Not to mention you can't get legendarys from timewalk farm. Not follower equipment.

It's still that way as far as I know. My 110 Hunter has as close to BiS TW Gear as I can find for him (missing MoP Cloak). I can say FOR FACT that WoD/Legion Set Gear is shit for TW. I utterly destroy ToS/Nighthold Geared Players' DPS in TW with my 454 iLvL 110 BM Hunter that's spammy mcspam old Gear with max Sockets and max Main Stat. As example, an average TW Dungeon Trash/Boss DPS:

TRASH DPS Ave:
  • Full TW Twink Gear + Artifact: 16-22K+ DPS
  • Zero TW Twink Gear (full Legion Gear): 8-14K DPS
BOSS DPS Ave:
  • Full TW Twink Gear + Artifact: 12-20K+ DPS
  • Zero TW Twink Gear (full Legion Gear): 2-7K DPS
