So many walls of text no one is going to read

The continuous fuss is because of committee members... forum trolls are expected, but the defensive responses to them have blown up this thread.

How are the committee members flawed? What is wrong with it? Again, are the rules so out of hand, that a different committee should be deemed necessary? Or, is it as stated in the many posts, a slip bye of one particular enchant not being banned, and an issue about discord that has already been given a response to as of how it is going to be addressed?

Edit: also, would the proposed representative of each team be able to devote the same amount of hours to come up with the same quality set of rules? I highly doubt that to be completely honest. Again, according to the many posts, it only seems as if there are a few minor issues. Which is truly amazing considering how many factors are at state when making these rules.

I don't agree with the fact if u got gfd enchants or gfd gear u can't use it.
I mean that's like saying if you worked longer or at a better job and get a bigger pension
Over someone who didn't have that good a job or didn't work as long and doesn't get a big pension that you're not deserving of it.
I'm talking about head enchant, the stuff blackout has on his rogue ( enchants ), 13 sp bracer.
If you got it you should be allowed to use it. You are rewarded by dedicating and playing for a long time.
This is for old enchants and items,
NOT bugged gear as in satchels, sockets etc.

Why are organizers of this tournament acting as if they don't have time to sit down leaders of teams in this tournament and talk about the rules for 20 ducking minutes? I get you are busy, and everyone has to deal with real life first. But it's blatantly obvious you guys had plenty of free time to work on this thread and the intro. If the organizers of this tournament are so starved of time that they can't sit down for 20 ducking minutes than I think you need to re-evaluate you're priorities. The rules and having every team on the same page sets the foundation for this tournament. And to be honest, the rules really aren't going to be that hard for each team to agree to.
Can't arrange a 20 minute discussion in curse with all the leaders?(something I highly doubt) Ok. Why not just create a thread for leaders to express their opinions. It would be better than nothing, and still gives leaders a voice. It would still spur on important discussions that need to be had within the community, until a convenient time can be found for everyone.
It's a shame this silly, easily-fixed situation is resulting in SR leaving the tournament. Please, organizers, don't let all this hard work go to waste.
We are hearing everything that people are saying. People of the general community are continuing to be frustrated because they are not seeing any changes being made instantaneously. This things WILL and ARE being addressed, changes WILL get made. People just need to give us time to be as thorough with the issues in question to make the most appropriate changes. Remember, you cannot rush perfection. We will do everything we can to make this tournament cater to the largest possible majority of people competing.

As far as it goes with Skill Ratio pulling out of the tournament, it's not clear to me why that decision has been made by them but if that is their will then it is out of our hands.

I ask the general public to realize that these issues can and will be addressed as soon as possible and the official post will be edited accordingly. This is equally if not more frustrating for us organizing this to deal with, frankly it is difficult for us to feel motivated to improve the rules and quality of this event when we members of the community constantly try to under mind us with comments that they believe would be an "improvement" and project their opinion in a demeaning manner.

Have a little patience with us, we will get this thing as close to perfect as possible but it will come with some time. Over the next seven days all issues will be discussed and addressed if deemed necessary by the committee.

I can only apologize if people don't agree with methods that we have chosen to manage this years cup, but regardless of how it is managed as long as the rules are good, the fluency is good, the schedule is good and the overall quality of the tournament is good. What more can you ask for from a group of volunteers?

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU who post in this thread, you voice has and will remain to be heard. Keep posting your thoughts, however once again i do ask of you guys to be as constructive as possible and hold back on the profanity as much as possible.

Thank You

The discussion is getting out of hand. It blew up over TWO things. One, 13 SP not being banned (which the committee said they'd talk over after being reminded). Two, Discord leaking possible strategies.

Look at the size, and the work put into this. Is the slip of a few things is to cause an uproar? The fact that the entire community has an option to even give constructive criticism is amazing. It shows that this truly is a community event, by the community, for the community.

Are people really against majority of the rules to an extent that they believe that a larger committee of different people should be deemed necessary? Or is it, as the many replies in this thread state, some minor issues that has already been promised to be addressed? Look at it from a realistic standpoint. You don't have to be a part of the committee to have an actual say. If you have a valid point, drop it in a comment in this thread, and it will be looked into, as stated. X, Y, Z being in the committee doesn't change the fact that this has been well organized, and that there has only been a few issues that has slipped by.

The organizers as of right now are stating that they read every comment, and that the major things that has been pointed out is going to be discussed. So there is no need for this actual outcry.

About the specific things about discord. It has been explained as to how this is going to be handled. And let's look at the factors as well. To perfectly execute on a call that has slipped through discord:

1) The snippet will have to be in that perfect moment where a strat has been called.

2) A person would have to be devoted, focused and have the effort to listen to random snippets, at random moments, from an opposing team, and communicate this information to his own team in order to take advantage.

3) All of this will have to happen flawlessly with a 5 minute stream delay.

Now put all of this inside of a "heat of the moment" situation yada, yada. Do you honestly believe that this is going to be a possibility? If anything, the chance of someone attempting this has a higher possibility of backfiring, than actually being useful.

TL;DR: You (as the community) are already a part of the committee, unofficially of course. Drop a comment with your valid input in a professional manner, and it will be looked into.

I really don't see what the continuous fuss is about.

I am looking forward to this event, and it has been well organized thus far.

I agree.
I believe they will take the valuable info from this and apply it accordingly. Like i said, they have done an amazing job so far and it should only get better!

Thanks @The NWL

My point is that the thread blew up because the committee was defensive in their response to the usual forum trolls. I wasn't insinuating that their rule making has been poor

Oh, you were answering my question. It was more of a rhetorical question to be honest. So that people realize how little ground they stand on when they're arguing for a different committee.

Edit: it is as if people are arguing for, "it used to be this way, so why has it changed? It shouldn't be changed". When there has been counter arguments as to why the old way of the committee didn't work. Also, people tend to look at who is in the committee, and why, rather than the material produced by said committee. It doesn't change the fact that it is only minor adjustments that has to be made.

No, what he is stating he wants people to is act a little more mature with a little more decorum. As opposed to acting as if they were raised by a street gang.
Nowhere did he state "censor".
by proxy its censoring as we have to suppress parts of our strat incase someone is listening

@Blackout
No, Thank YOU. Thank you for the response, but more importantly thank you for putting in all this work into the tournament. Please excuse my profanity, I have a very dirty mouth that is sometimes hard to put a leash on. As I stated in my original post, I have nothing but gratitude for the work you guys have put in. I just want to see that hard work not go to waste.

No one here is arguing for a different committee. Leaders just want to be/should be involved in the rule making process.

Again, why? Are said leaders not agreeing on current rules? Are we still discussing the minor flukes that has been promised to be addressed?
Every team should come to formal agreement on the rules, whether the current rules set in place are sound or not. I've said this before and I'll say it again. Participants in this tournament are the ones who are ultimately affected by the rules. The rules themselves are not as important. If every team agrees to the rules/has a voice in making the rules, then the twink cup can be deemed "legit".

I have suggested this each and every year since the TCs inception. The committee should consist of people that know 19's/Tw!nking well enough, yet have zero ties to the guilds/people that are partaking or that can, at the very least, look at the "rules" with a unobstructed point of view.
If we continue to pick people from each team, they will only want "rules" that will best suit them. Where as a neutral party will select "rules" that best suit everyone.

Good suggestion. But do you know how hard it is to find an intellectually sound 19 twink that has no affiliation with any of the competing guilds. No bias whatsoever and you need seven of them?

It saddens me to see Skill Ratio withdraw, though I find it curious since I have stated that we would be reviewing everything discussed here with the committee, this is Pizza's decision tho and no one can change that. I look forward to all the competitive matches in this years event.

But then you are putting it in the hands of the people that play in the event rather than the people who created the event. Idk if I completely agree with that. It should either be all in house or all out

That is literally the same mentality as schoolyard soccer.

Why should the leaders be involved the rule making?

The committee sets forth their "rules". Then the "Leaders" should only should reply with suggestion for changes. It is simple... Just make a private room that only has the leaders and committee members. The leaders should act like leaders in that room I might add.

Have a wonderful day.
