We are hearing everything that people are saying. People of the general community are continuing to be frustrated because they are not seeing any changes being made instantaneously. This things WILL and ARE being addressed, changes WILL get made. People just need to give us time to be as thorough with the issues in question to make the most appropriate changes. Remember, you cannot rush perfection. We will do everything we can to make this tournament cater to the largest possible majority of people competing. Why are organizers of this tournament acting as if they don't have time to sit down leaders of teams in this tournament and talk about the rules for 20 ducking minutes? I get you are busy, and everyone has to deal with real life first. But it's blatantly obvious you guys had plenty of free time to work on this thread and the intro. If the organizers of this tournament are so starved of time that they can't sit down for 20 ducking minutes than I think you need to re-evaluate you're priorities. The rules and having every team on the same page sets the foundation for this tournament. And to be honest, the rules really aren't going to be that hard for each team to agree to.
Can't arrange a 20 minute discussion in curse with all the leaders?(something I highly doubt) Ok. Why not just create a thread for leaders to express their opinions. It would be better than nothing, and still gives leaders a voice. It would still spur on important discussions that need to be had within the community, until a convenient time can be found for everyone.
It's a shame this silly, easily-fixed situation is resulting in SR leaving the tournament. Please, organizers, don't let all this hard work go to waste.
The discussion is getting out of hand. It blew up over TWO things. One, 13 SP not being banned (which the committee said they'd talk over after being reminded). Two, Discord leaking possible strategies.
Look at the size, and the work put into this. Is the slip of a few things is to cause an uproar? The fact that the entire community has an option to even give constructive criticism is amazing. It shows that this truly is a community event, by the community, for the community.
Are people really against majority of the rules to an extent that they believe that a larger committee of different people should be deemed necessary? Or is it, as the many replies in this thread state, some minor issues that has already been promised to be addressed? Look at it from a realistic standpoint. You don't have to be a part of the committee to have an actual say. If you have a valid point, drop it in a comment in this thread, and it will be looked into, as stated. X, Y, Z being in the committee doesn't change the fact that this has been well organized, and that there has only been a few issues that has slipped by.
The organizers as of right now are stating that they read every comment, and that the major things that has been pointed out is going to be discussed. So there is no need for this actual outcry.
About the specific things about discord. It has been explained as to how this is going to be handled. And let's look at the factors as well. To perfectly execute on a call that has slipped through discord:
1) The snippet will have to be in that perfect moment where a strat has been called.
2) A person would have to be devoted, focused and have the effort to listen to random snippets, at random moments, from an opposing team, and communicate this information to his own team in order to take advantage.
3) All of this will have to happen flawlessly with a 5 minute stream delay.
Now put all of this inside of a "heat of the moment" situation yada, yada. Do you honestly believe that this is going to be a possibility? If anything, the chance of someone attempting this has a higher possibility of backfiring, than actually being useful.
TL;DR: You (as the community) are already a part of the committee, unofficially of course. Drop a comment with your valid input in a professional manner, and it will be looked into.
I really don't see what the continuous fuss is about.
I am looking forward to this event, and it has been well organized thus far.
My point is that the thread blew up because the committee was defensive in their response to the usual forum trolls. I wasn't insinuating that their rule making has been poorHow are the committee members flawed? What is wrong with it? Again, are the rules so out of hand, that a different committee should be deemed necessary? Or, is it as stated in the many posts, a slip bye of one particular enchant not being banned, and an issue about discord that has already been given a response to as of how it is going to be addressed?
My point is that the thread blew up because the committee was defensive in their response to the usual forum trolls, not that their rule making has been poor
by proxy its censoring as we have to suppress parts of our strat incase someone is listeningNo, what he is stating he wants people to is act a little more mature with a little more decorum. As opposed to acting as if they were raised by a street gang.
Nowhere did he state "censor".
No one here is arguing for a different committee. Leaders just want to be/should be involved in the rule making process. So that people realize how little ground they stand on when they're arguing for a different committee.
Every team should come to formal agreement on the rules, whether the current rules set in place are sound or not. I've said this before and I'll say it again. Participants in this tournament are the ones who are ultimately affected by the rules. The rules themselves are not as important. If every team agrees to the rules/has a voice in making the rules, then the twink cup can be deemed "legit".Again, why? Are said leaders not agreeing on current rules? Are we still discussing the minor flukes that has been promised to be addressed?
I have suggested this each and every year since the TCs inception. The committee should consist of people that know 19's/Tw!nking well enough, yet have zero ties to the guilds/people that are partaking or that can, at the very least, look at the "rules" with a unobstructed point of view.
If we continue to pick people from each team, they will only want "rules" that will best suit them. Where as a neutral party will select "rules" that best suit everyone.

@Blackout
No, Thank YOU. Thank you for the response, but more importantly thank you for putting in all this work into the tournament. Please excuse my profanity, I have a very dirty mouth that is sometimes hard to put a leash on. As I stated in my original post, I have nothing but gratitude for the work you guys have put in. I just want to see that hard work not go to waste.
