EU+US The NWL S3: Community Discussion

You should still do wsg but integrate arena in as well, like a all around point system. I know the nwl always has trouble getting each team to field 10 guys well make it point based, you get so many points per win and how much you win by in each game. And still have it best of 3 and then on the side let each team be able to field a 3's team for points as well. And make it 3 games and each win is worth so many points. It would really make things interesting in the end. Point accumulation. That's my 2 cents for nwl 3. You'd really see a best over all guild.

Practically all we ever see is who is best at WSG. And that is all we will probably continue to see.
TC, and the like, would be better served in showing who is the best player/team, not the best player/team that can manipulate a single map.

AB is not optimal for level 19. It's too big without mounts, and level 19s lack the toolkit to have competitive games.

Eye of the Storm lacks similar problems, but with the additional complication that the Wargame map version is still the same as the non-RBG version. The non-RBG version of EoTS is absolutely horrendous.

If there was ONE other map that is optimized for 19s, it would be Silvershard Mines. Until that point, WSG will remain to be the paradigm PvP map for 19, which is why it should be the ONLY map played in a competitive setting.

I dont agree with this, don't mix NWL and the arena tournament. Keep NWL focused on WSG only, and make a seperate tournament.

19's run at near mounted speed now. Some classes even faster... All can with a little extra help.
AB/EotS are fine. It just means people will have to learn anew. Some people abore change, fear it you might say. And then you have others that embrace it.
Which kind of person are you all is the question...
I, for one, like change.

Near mount speed?... Only monks, druids and hunters come anywhere near that. Most classes will run at 120% with only a few gap closing abilities.
I too like change. But I like change where change is needed.

Yes, 20% faster than with nothing. You also forgot Druids and shamans. Monks can "sprint" every class. Which leaves us with every class having the ability for "near" mount speed.
Plus we have access to speed pots and parachutes which can make for very interesting matches. As opposed to the same old mid-clash GY farmfest that many desire here. That was the fear in the change I spoke about. Some people may not like the thought of losing their foothold on something they know well.

Are you saying an EotS and AB wargame should be done thru the specific queue system and not the wargame system? Consumables are not useable in normal war games.

lmao so you count Tiger's Lust as a possible speed boost for every class? Well you're not incorrect, your argument is just without foothold in reality. You can max have 2 monks, and the ability share a 30 sec cooldown.
Sure monks, druids, hunters and shamans can run at reasonable speed (though not all of them at mount speed) but warriors, mages, priests, warlocks and paladins will fall behind, and the games will be sooo slow.
This is the kind of flawed logic that will cause a change for the worse, where, initially, no change was needed. WSG is the best, and unfortunately, only working map for 19's. Silvershard and Temple would probably work, but so far, they are unavailable to us.

Flying Serpent Kick makes monks move at 420% movement

Holy Paladins can be just as fast as a shaman...

So you say it is "best" simply because it is a small map? Is that your opinion or a fact? If it is a fact surely you have other facts to back this up.

Maybe an "extreme eots event" where speed pots are encouraged, a 15v15 player single event and class caps are increased. Just because there isn't a meta in use doesn't mean there can't be.

Glad to see we have some open minds. Playing games is meant for fun after all.

Because it is a smaller map people are actually obliged to fight each other, instead of playing a game of tag.
Because it is a smaller map, it will be more fast paced, which is what 19 is all about right now, if you want something else, go to another bracket.
Because it is a smaller map, it is more intriguing for other people to watch it on stream etc.
The bigger maps of AB/EoTS is not adapted for 10 man teams without mounts, you are right that some classes have the mobility to outweigh the lack of mounts, but remaining 50% of the classes will be useless

Now we're talking about an entire different scenario. We were discussing the possiblity of other maps being included in the NWL. But this does sound interesting as a seperate event.

Indeed it is, so let's not kill the fun with unnecessary map-changes
