EU+US The NWL S3: Community Discussion

Why can't we have a season 3, teams will start to form and for the teams that have formed it is great pratice, but I like the idea of having an arena nwl
 
Why not both?

I don't fully understand how NWL has worked in the past, but I don't see why one day can't be dedicated to 3v3 streaming.

There is a rising interest in arenas, even if some of the people in this thread would rather post snarky comments than offer a compromise.

There really isn't any reason to ignore arenas, but NWL needs to stay WSG focused to keep the hype built for Tc16.

I have a rather interesting idea for some NWL arena stuff that I will elaborate upon once I get home from work. Stay tuned arena junkies
 
Personally I don't think an arena season would be a good idea. This would be due to decrease in amount of people being needed to play, would cause trouble in case players want to play with a different partners, and would have to have many games scheduled consecutively to make the stream something people want to watch.

A tournament for arena hosted by the NWL is another thing.
 
Why would the TC need hype? It nearly half a year away and you guys are already worried about something that ended only a a few months ago. I guess we better start hyping Super Bowl 51 right now!

Don't players play WSG for fun anyways? Hype shouldn't even be needed.
 
I don't feel like 3v3's merit a whole event. Especially if there are no healers, it would just be nuke fest after nuke fest. Doesn;t seem like something I would enjoy watching. Imho keep arenas in the ladders and make it seasonal. Arena is to earn titles and do something different, WSG is for glory.
 
@Conq, you need to keep NWL to the WSG format, it is the only thing keeping this bracket alive at this moment, and will be one of the main factors for the community, to gain interest in the TC16. If you, or the community, really feel like doing a 3v3 tournament, make a seperate one.

Not sure about hype but if you mean gain a few people playing for teams or forming new ones then that probably would happen. In general WSG isn't that entertaining to watch until the actual TC.

Actually watching other people play video games isn't what I would call top tier entertainment at all. But some people do rather enjoy it for some reason.
 
It's as simple as this. You can host an arena tournament if you want, but the top teams and players in this bracket will be focusing on WSG. Many probably won't compete in the arena tournament, and the ones who do will not take it very serious since their focus will primarily be on WSG.

That being said, there's nothing wrong with having an arena tournament that only lasts one or two days. If it lasts longer than that, people will lose interest and wish it never happened.
