The end?

  • The team doesn't want people to feel that they must have PvP gear to participate in PvP.
  • When you enter a battleground or arena, the game will set your stats from your spec, not your gear. This means all of your stats will come from a template specific to your spec. If one spec isn't doing well in PvP, their spec's template can be tuned individually.

Hold me I'm scured!

at this point in twinking it feels more of a community thing than actually playing a low level character to the best of their ability... with that being said i dont think twinking will ever completely die and if it does it will come back in a few months(similar to 19s)

If this was a time where XP locked and unlocked were together, this would be huge, now it's not as everyone is usually on level pegging, infact it's better due to not having to put up with white geared baddies. However this does ruin half the fun of twinking; gearing.

"Trinkets, set bonuses, and enchants will not be active in PvP." I think that line sums up PvP in Legion and beyond, no more Twinking specifically for PvP, no more fun with old school items scaling up within your Bracket (like the 90-99 Bracket using LvL 60 proc Weapons and old school set bonuses to great effect). This is another indicator of what I've been saying all along, Blizzard HATES Twinks and does what they can to nerf us repeatedly. This is a blatant nerf to the entire Twinking community in every Bracket (except 1-9 since they can't BG). At this point I'm kind of glad I don't PvP anymore as this is one of the stupidest changes I've seen in the 6-7 years I've played WoW.

"What are we without our gear?"

You can still go and get all the gear if that is your thing it just won't have an effect on how you play the game. I don't understand why everyone being on an even playing field is a bad thing.

Not really sure if it is fair if a player who made a toon just mere hours ago would be evenly matched with someone who spent weeks getting their gear

You guys all think BM and Feral is OP now, wait until you have shit for Health and almost non-existent damage reduction via Versa stacking (no more Enchants in BG's). Such a horrible decision on Blizz's part.

This is the same mentality that is ruining competition in the world today. It's like those school events where EVERYONE gets a trophy, even last place. Yup, lets award mediocrity, that'll cause people to want to succeed.

So I guess the new expansion will play your toon for you too? Removing gear doesn't remove the need to know how to play well. I does remove the need to grind dungeons and complete long quest chains. PvP will actually be skill over gear. That is not awarding mediocrity. It will magnify the mediocrity of those who relied on the advantage gear gave them.

I guess we just have different definitions of skill and competition.

double post, sorry

This probably means trinkets that summon hounds, or dragons would then be OP in BG's? o_O I mean if everyone's gear doesn't matter anyways so why not have a trinket or two that can summon pets which would do more dmg and that's even if they will let us summon pets from our trinkets

Ok, this happens all the time, we make assumptions based on pre-written expectations

Consider this

Gearing in WoW and in most mmorpg games is a very big part of the system. People do work hard to gear their characters. It would be unfair to make everyone even. You work hard for PVP gear even at endgame.

Heres what I predict: This might only apply to endgame RBGS and Rarenas. Or there will be some type of other format, that wont exactly involve what what you guys are thinking but something in relation to that.

these changes could actually be positive

- making a class for any bracket will be easy, since BIS gear and having enchants will no longer matter
- blizz has no reason to not merge XP on and XP off brackets if we are going to a fixed template FPS system that games like COD have
- since PVE and PVP will be dealt with separately, there should be no excuse for not balancing, any class/spec should be able to kill any class/spec
- all brackets could become active if merged, interest would be based on abilities and not FOTM OP at XX level, or OP gear for X-class/spec

Low quality pugs though

And they will balance endgame not low level brackets, Burst to high in your bracket to bad no stam stacking for you! DPS to low in your bracket TO BAD no AP stacking for you.

Getting killed in a stun? TO BAD NO TRINKETS FOR YOU!! (likely will not be able to grind prestige at low level so no trinket via pvp talents for us)

The gearing in PVP is one of the things that set wow apart from a lot of other games that have FAILED.

Gearing tinks once then being able to play them for YEARS was one of the things that drew people to tinking instead of endgame, now you don't have to gear at endgame for pvp.

Low quality pugs though

Every game WORSE than current 29's, that is just WONDERFUL!!
