EU+US The basic tango - A F2P Discipline Priest guide

In my opinion the 20% is a huge overkill. Also ToF doesn't increase pw:s. The extra bolt of penance adds a extra flash heal in penance, hence why I recommend it.
[doublepost=1559383927,1559383768][/doublepost]Made a small change to the guide. I now added gear under the gear section, instead of lazy-pasting some armories there.
I think ToF is good when pugging twink v twink bgs cause of all the burst damage going around you'll often find yourself healing teammates below 35% hp.

That being said somtimes I play ToF and just purposely let lvlers dio below 35%. You can play it this way and effectively but it does require more awareness.

This is why disc is a lovely spec, you really can just tell people to roll whatever talent they want and they'll still pull their weight. Have fun!

People be sleeping on holy. I've played it past few weeks and its very effective. Cant kite heal as well but it has its advantages

Holy only redeeming ability is the fact that they also have a lay of hands. There shitty CC always gets broken in this bracket. Blanketing your team with renews (which barely heal) will take up a lot of GCDs. A shaman can do the same with 1 GCD.

Not saying the spec isn't good, it just isn't as good as people hype it up to be, sorry.

its not as good as people hype it up to be, its better.

people don't hype holy up at all?

if you set up haste right enough you can get serenity every like 10ish seconds. having a 1500+ heal every 10 seconds is nutty

smite also reduces the CD on the stun so you can do the same thing with damage output. Holy has some of the best damage if not THE best damage output of all the priest specs. yeah ppl break the CC but like at the same time that spell literally does the most burst damage of any priest ability @ lvl 20, except maybe a full penance. (and if you have grenades the stun makes for an easy target to combo more damage)

if you're blanketing your team with renews you're not playing holy right. renew important players like other healers, yourself, and maybe a few twinks and that's all (or flag carriers and such). the only time I would blanket is before a team fight or something. now if I were defending a base in AB or EoTs and there were only a few team mates with me then I would blanket renews.

holy is lowkey the best spec, just possibly the hardest to play (priest wise). its overshadowed by disc because its learning curve is small and you get fotm results.

Low mobility is what kills holy from ever being considered better than discipline priest. Sure it can and will heal a lot, but you'll always will be lacking behind mobile healers. However your faith in the holy has motivated me to play it. I'll let you know how it went.

Holy - I've tried a few times, last year and this, to change to holy, I always revert to disc. Not because holy's no good but because it's quite a different playstyle and once you've been playing disc for long enough, holy doesn't feel like it makes sense. I'm pretty sure that if you started off on holy, though, it would make perfect sense. It's just not an easy change from one to the other. At least not for me and my old brain.

Shadow - I love it and I almost always use it PvE, but when I try it in PvP I usually end up feeling like I could have been a lot more effective group-wise if I'd gone in in disc. I spend half my time and all my mana off-healing, and though mind-flay is brilliant for the slow, the whole void explosion dynamic is meh (*love* the animation though).

Re talents, having one that's up all the time like Castigation works better imho than one that is situational like Twist of Fate. I've tried it out now and again, the loss of the extra bolt of penance is much more noticeable than the gain of power ToF sometimes gives.

For some reason when I queue as dps and heals the game only ever puts me in as heals. I've not gone in as shadow once since the patch, (except when I queue only as dps). This even when we have more than enough healers in the group. So I'm guessing that would be why we hardly ever see SPs in groups.
