Survival or Beast Mastery?

BM hands down. Its also more fun, as you have to constantly manage your pet....ALL hunters SHOULD do this but lets be real most of em leave their pet on auto attack

Ok, well I'm not going to create a wall of text to argue again. I've stated my case, you've stated yours, I'll just let the OP decide.

Sounds fair.
I decided to test out the differing specs to see how much DPS they did on a Hpally Dyruus @ Aerie Peak - Game Guide - World of Warcraft with Chili @ Aerie Peak - Game Guide - World of Warcraft .

Survival - 129
Beast Mastery - 124
Marksmanship - 99

This was with the specs I see most often and over the course of him just healing till he oomed.

if you're kitting you don't need the stamina

In a bracket when your only real threat if your playing right is other hunters then yes the extra stamina is VITAL.

And as far as intimidation goes give me a fucking break. Your playing the highest damage class in the bracket that already comes with 2 (moth/SS) Interrupts and your saying you need an extra CC with healers? Don't feed me that bullshit.

As survival you can do massive amounts of unavoidable damage regardless of where your pet is located. And lets not forget your pet has a much smaller health pool then you so when he/she/it gets 2 shot you're fucking done (If you're not waiting 20 seconds for it to scuttle it's ass from one fight to the next so you can kill something)

Not to mention your pet being in range of priest fears making kill command effectivly useless because you need to keep your moth on follow to use it's inturupt.

Survival is better hands down.

BM all the way, I can lock down most healers using stun, scatter, and my pet moth's interrupt.

good job for using moth! but you really wont need pet stun to lock down healers if you use a double moth and speced survival since you will kill the healer with all your ccs

If you only need 2 ccs to kill a healer and hunters are your biggest worry, rolling BM will let you get a disarming pet.

BOOM.

Although most hunters I've faced on my shaman don't know to scatter shot me at low health so they can finish me off. They interrupt my heal when i'm at 70% with earth shield on and then it's on cooldown when they really need it to finish me off. I've come across very few 20 f2p hunters that are in any way aware of things going on. Most of the time it is dump all their focus trying to burst me down and then when they can't it's hilarious. I've seen hunters so bad that I can auto run and type on bg chat for people to come peel a hunter off me because they were too bad to actually kill me.

The problem is when you get 4 hunters at once on you that makes damage stack so fast you can't heal through it. FWIW I've had 3 separate serpent stings and an explosive shot ticking on me at the same time once.

MM is even worse than Survival. It's literally a one trick pony and if someone is dumb enough to let an aimed shot go off they deserve what happens. I've played hunter quite a bit from TBC and WotLK and even a little in cata to know how to kill a healer. It isn't all burst and raw damage. It's about CC at the right time so they can't heal to full from 10% in two casts. A stun gives you that. Survival means you can be a BG all-star and top charts and stay with the other 3 hunters in the BG and pretty much focus down anything, but 1v1 you won't kill a good healer as a f2p 20 as survival.

this man has clearly never hit a steady shot+skill command+arcane shot combo on somebody. Not a single spec in this bracket can heal through 1200+ burst in the span of about 2 seconds unless you have masterfully bound LOH. Also, having Intimidation means I can roll with a Scorpid pet, meaning I can rape my only competition, other hunters. Then again, orc Skill Command often crits for over 700, idk about other races.

That said, lets be real even an unspecced hunter is viable in this bracket. But I will enjoy perfecting scrub Surv hunters all day

*edit* ill concede on the pet part though, when charge is down my scorpion is the slowest little shit ever. and when he dies i just kinda jump around and spam conc shot/scatter shot until i can rez him ;_;
