Surv. Weapon Drops

Anyone else having shite luck getting weapons to drop for survival? Ran deadmines 45+ times and no harpoon OR axe. Journal has both these listed as survival loot. Bad RNG or am i late to the party?

They both still drop. RNG is RNG. Also the axe is better.

Remember you can run with a friend who already has theirs and they can trade you. Likewise you could do SFK with warr/pally and get the str axe/sword traded for some additional swag. But that requires friends =P

Why is the axe better?

In level 19 ipvp, 2H axes and swords do slightly more damage than 2H maces/staves/polearms. You can do a quick verification by comparing the str/agi heirlooms and watching your char sheet and skill tooltips. It's a small difference, but still an easy fix.

So the ilvl 25 axe (or a sword) is going to be BiS. The only exception *might* be the ilvl 27 staff if it gets you to an ilvl breakpoint with more agility/verse.

check your loot options, maybe it is set as marks or BM, dont know for sure if it would make a difference.

loot was surv. took about 65 times. Still no harpoon but the axe finally dropped

at least you can ditch the run halfway through now
