Super Prot damage

Can we get a mod to break this thread down (with like, deleting posts that are flames etc) to what it was meant to be: 7slacks7 telling people that you can get a nice damage boost at the start of a wsg and go on a rampage - it was never meant to be a discussion/flamewar about how op or not op (prot) warriors are - and I certainly don't mean civilized stating of facts or happenings from one and then getting an opinion or disprove from another player should get deleted.

But that would be like 15 pages of the thread

any kind of damage is allowed against druids in bgs. There needs to be a buff, add a automatic 300% dmg against any 20-24 druid in bgs...but oh well.

Right now..the druid class is literally killing the bracket...
The only good part is that druids cannot wear shields so 700 armor..satisfying 1200 shield slams.I used to whine about 24 rogues(still do, surprise) but nah its all good as long as the druid class can queue for bgs.

Sometimes a thread that isn't terribly interesting in and of itself sparks a conversation that is much more meaningful and important. In fact I'd say many of the great conversations start that way. The thread is "about" what the thread is about, pretty much regardless of the original author's intent. In much the same way that what a book "means" to a reader may differ from what the author intended but a good author appreciates all the ways in which his readers interpret his writing.

Having said that, yes, there have been flame posts that are pointless and I'd like them to stop too. Holypowah was very insistent in his beliefs at first, but (as I recall) he never got rude about it, and no one ever got rude with him, just countered his points. So no, for me personally I don't hold anything against him for changing his mind and I don't think that his doing so gives anyone the right to give him a hard time about it. It's good to learn to let go of things. He heard the points, he did his own research, he changed his mind. That should be applauded, not insulted, for it is rare in this world that someone is willing to admit that.

If there's anything left to say about this topic, maybe we can all stick to the topic at hand now, okay?

On topic: I still have yet to SS crit larger than the 1210 or so that I got against an undergeared warlock the other day. Today, I had more SS's dodged than I had crits. And that one ability (even sans crits) is still constituting 75-80% of my damage output. I might even go back to arms; at least it wasn't this bursty. The fact that I like FC'ing is the only thing keeping me from going back to arms.

As Kincaide said, there is no point in cleaning a thread up like this. What's done is done. Even with all the flaming around, it stopped now, and it never got insulting. Otherwise I'ld have to lock it (because I'm not gonna delete 15 pages of posts 1 by 1 -_- ). Keep it on topic from now on and we'll all be fine.

So: Warriors aren't broken, Shield Slam is, and it actually isn't that bad. Its pretty easy to counter a warrior. And that once in a while 1.2k crit (yes, it doesn't go any higher) actually isn't enough to get a real kill when you're BiS. They certainly aren't annoying, and sometimes you'll feel like "OMG that truck crossed a red light!" but in the end, you'll be just fine.

I could kill rogues as a prot warrior pre buffs. Now with super powered SS, killing a rogue is cake.
You killing a random PuG Rogue isn't exactly material to use as comparison... And you were stating Warriors, not Prot Warriors.

Warriors can't kill good priests, mages and they can beat warlocks easily so cloth has nothing to complain about. Hell it makes sense for warriors to kill warlocks because a warrior's rage sometimes overcomes the warlock's magic.

wtf are you talking about? i just said that if a warrior gets someone to execute range in one SS, they deserve to die (i.e. shouldn't be in the bg). and why a lock wouldn't just fear a warr and run away is beyond me tbh.

please stop quoting me, you're to much hard work.

Indeed. Voidwalker Disarm right from the start. Either you have time to get an easy Fear off, or you get a serious damage head start. Peeling with Demonic Leap gives some possibilities aswell.
