Hey folks,

some people choose strange/ funny names for their charakters or in this forum. What's the reason behind this?
I bet there are some hilarious stories out there, just waiting to be told. ;)
 
At first I wanted my druid named kibbLes with an L, was taken so I replaced it with an I and kinda liked it, had a ring to it so I stuck with it.
Fubbsy just came to me somehow, I thought it was pretty good so I made a hunter out of it and I was not dissapoint
Hishandu was the name of my old 70 draeni shaman so I passed it down to my draeni pala

I'm also not very satisfied with a few of my toons' names, I should have thought it out more. I know about the whole rename your toon for free thing but I can't bring myself to delete my toon even if I know its gonna be restored :S
 
"Spiriel" is the name of a character from shining force 3 for the sega Saturn. One of the best games and series of all times. Its my usual char name for females and its rare enough to not be always taken.
 
Spinning leaf is a mental state that Kvothe learns of in "The Wise Man's Fear." I chose it for my resto druid because of the literal spinning leaves when casting swiftmend. After that I just kind of used spinning as a naming convention for my alts.

We both know, that's not true!

If I tell you why my characters are called the way they're called, you're gonna be creeped out, so I won't tell anyone D:
Shiro means 'White' in Japanese though and since that was taken it had to get ø

My names usually have 5 letters and are Japanese-inspired, that's a basic, some aren't along those lines, some are and it creates a fucking mess every time I make a new character.
And for people wondering why my mage is called 'Ranze' but my shaman (which I created later) is called 'Rance': my mage was supposed to be 'Rance' but it was taken at that time /furious - I'm supposed to be Rance, for y'all information!

That stupid ass TV-ad gave my char its name. It's so ridiculously retarded, it just screamed to become the name of my blue skinned, green haired, sharp fanged troll priest. Recycled it for my resto druid.


What I consider now as my main, the rogue, is quite simple. Torment is an anytimer ability, that ignores 100% armor, from Witchhunters in WAR. Rogues have no torment. End of story. Wonder what people thought I'd try to express there. :D
 
Grathlong comes from a brian jacques book series that is a lot of fun. Grath long was a charcter in the book that was a river otter who was an expert slinger with a sling. Im into marksmanship stuff so the name has been my screen name and my nickname.

My Twinkinfo name, Gulbon, is based on my main's name.

And my F2P arms warrior, Bellybutton was named after I spent one hour trying to think of a funky name and realized I had my finger in my bellybutton.

Often times when I can't think of names I smash my hands on the keyboard and modify it a little so I can pronounce it, sometimes I have to do it multiple times because the words are too far off that I can't modify them without changing the entire thing.
