State of 19s - Classic Anniversary Realms

Posting my observations thus far.

-queue pops are frequent and wait times are typically 2-20 minutes. Very often I barely have enough time to make it to AH in Stormwind before queue pops.
-Horde as a whole is much more organized, better geared, and has more experienced players and premades. They win most games except when Allies get a good comp and player matchup.
-Horde often rolls in with lots of hunters, warriors, rogues, priests. Shaman are more rare but impactful.
-Allies overall need warriors for dps pressure, and some sort of healing. It would be nice to see more paladins. And hunter awareness such as efc callouts as that is sorely lacking.
-Some Ally healers tend to afk out at first sign of trouble, which is a big problem at present for game balance. However, it also means that Ally players are not peeling for their healers.
-When building toons, there are certain "must-have" quest items that are very easy to plan into a build and players are missing them. Example - Gravestone Scepter. There are lots of guides out there and it is easy to schedule in the needed quests exactly when their impact is minimized.
-Yes levelers are present and there is some toxicity when there could be an opportunity to educate. After all, we all know what happens when there are no levelers driving the queues. But this is the age-old question. It isn't going away.
-AH is great for low level mats but the well-known twink items the prices are a bit insane. On Ally side at least there is a focus on making profit rather than helping out the faction players, which sucks quite honestly but I get it, every goblin needs to make a buck. Someone mentioned it costs 1000g to gear a toon with head/leg enchants included, which is tough to absorb when you don't have a main but oh well. I am budget geared and enchanted mostly and surviving quite well most of the time.
-Jumps are a fact of life. As are rocket boots, swift pots, city buffs, etc.

My 2 cents. Overall I have been having fun. We don't know yet how far this train ride will last or if the server will stop at TBC, but we are hopeful and enjoying it for now. I personally rolled on Dreamscythe just so I could avoid casually being killed in Ratchet etc, but to each his or her own.

Looking forward to other observations.

Sincerely,

Ozon, the very annoying mage

Which realm right now is the most populated?

Which faction needs assistance?

There really aren't tons of realms as layers are used extensively. Just pick which gamestyle you prefer.

Dreamscythe for pve
Nightslayer for pvp
Maladath is pvp in Oceanic

Once you join a Warsong all those are merged and play against each other.

Alliance needs ballers.

I'd say challenge accepted, but life kills WoW playtime.

Though I now have the information to PvP. Thanks darlin'.

Is this Vanilla classic still or?

Same observations for EU servers, although faction imbalance not as severe as you see on US.

We're having loads of fun atm.

I'm kind of shocked folks were this hype about 19s on anniversary. I'm happy about it, I just don't feel like re-gearing a vanilla/BC/Wotlk 19... again...
I'm sure I'll look back on it and go "man I should have done that while it was around" but as of right now... eh.

I was hoping MOP 19s would be a thing, but I doubt it at this point.

I would have thought twinks would stay on Era rather than Anniversary as well, but I think the allure of TBC got everybody's attention.

A name I remember, are you playing Anniversary at present?

I have legions of toons on several accounts that have all been deprecated by Blizzard's steamroller of progress. I mean what do you do when a fully Sunwell decked out Level 70 is somehow now Level 27? And a former 39 druid with nearly a thousand flag returns is now Level 17? Remember most of the stuff they did to xp off characters like separating queues was intentional.

I also missed the boat on copying characters from Classic of 2019 to Classic Era, so I have piles of abandoned gear there too. That one hurts. I did start making some new toons but switched to Anniversary. There's been a lot of face stomping by Horde but occasionally there are some fantastic games.

TBC was great back in the day for a lot of reasons. I think people are hoping to relive that experience. Here's hoping they will make it an Era of its own.

Kinda wish 29's was more popular then 19's never been a big fan of the 19 bracket in vanilla but I am glad you guys are having fun.

Yeah same.
