US Sponsor's Legacy - The Level 10 Twink

10s were a blast. Hopefully they will return to being useful some time. Havent played in almost a year. Just burned out. Would come back for a legit 10s return.
 
I am not certain if I remember correctly . . . It may have been you -

About 8 years ago I remember summoning a level 10 warrior (probably you) to go up against Thunderaan to see if we could avoid getting 1 hit.

Beatson19’s on Medivh was past it’s peak as a guild and we wanted to complete our last major achievement - 3 manning Thunderaan.

It was great to have new enthusiasm in the 10’s community with your growing leadership on other server(s).

Holding events such as the Foam sword competition in Darkshire was a great way that you promoted 10’s.

Twinking is fun. Twinking at 10 is fantastic.

That was me yes! I recently completed the Thunderfury quest, and killing Thunderan made me think of you and your kill that took hours to complete lol.

I miss hosting level 10 twink events. The Foam Sword competition really was my favorite, the turn out was huge :)

The Shadowlands scaling theoretically sounds very promising for low level twinks, still lots of speculation but looks FUN!

Thank you for the nostalgia @Sponsor - really enjoyed the read. Doesn’t look good right now for 10s / 19s in shadowlands- but hopefully better times are ahead. Enjoyed playing with you throughout the years
 
Cataclysm was a tough time for the lower and middle brackets, with the insane burst they saw. 10s made for a delightful exception, and didn't get anywhere near the attention they deserved at the time. I took part in the only two XP-off games 10s were able to organize during that era (not wargames, but actual battleground pops), and anyone who played in those two games could see just how much potential the bracket had. 10s brought interesting (and difficult) gearing options, multiple options to different classes and specs -- some of which even had good reasons to go to level 11, 12, or 14 if they wanted to. The 10-14 bracket could have been the most diverse bracket in all of Cataclysm. It's a shame that the bracket squandered such a great opportunity, but I acknowledge that organizing games is tough. My 10 druid would have loved to have seen more XP-off battlegrounds.
 
Thanks for the great read Sponsor. Brought back a lot of good memories. My ten, Boderek, was one of the original tens and has been both one of the most fun toons I have ever played and one of the worst. Best was having 120% dodge and dueling high level characters that couldn't hit me, going into to BG's and having people screaming at me about why would i bring a low level in and then turning around and destroying everything, and the last big fun was the pre-legion event and being able to out damage and out tank any level in the zone. Pretty much anything since then has been the worst but maybe in SL we can make a comeback at the new level 10. Haven't decided yet if i will level her up or reroll as i hate to see all the grandfathered and unobtainable gear just thrown away. May just stay in my hall of fame.

Just before i logged in to see your post my son and I were talking about the same thing! He was telling me i needed to take a toon up to camp for the Royal Dangui or whichever one it was that had the high ilvl.
