EU So i bought this shield on AH. Wtf?

There’s some glitch in the matrix every now and again where you can end up looting mobs way above your level. Like, one in hundreds but it does happen. But generally you can’t loot skull level mobs anymore

Ok, maybe I missed something but why are ppl getting wet over this then if you can´t really "farm" it? That means whoever got that shield (if drop was legit), he was just lucky enough that his lvl 8 suddenly was able to loot the mob and then got the shield out of it?

Na, you can guarantee the drop with the method I mentioned on 2nd page. Need a lvl 8, lvl 18, lvl 28, and lvl 38 all on different accounts, tagging every mob on all of them

where is this proven tho? lowest they got legion scales down was 83 i belive.(they did not try to get it lower) also we dont know if the scaling works the same way in a raid grp, to get it all the way to lowbies. also we dont know if this tag scale works anywhere else than in legion areas.?
I have not tested this and have no clue, but this is what I thought

Edit: also this is the 2nd time ive seen this shield scaled to req 8, last one was "dropped" by a gm

You are able to loot like 1 in 10 mobs. It is always trash items.
This shit goes on ever since change to master loot (i believe)

Not to be cynical but if i had one obtained via shady ways and was in need of selling it - the ah buy claim would my first pick.
 
Holy crap what a thing to have found. This got me hyped as hell. I've been testing stuff all night trying to find out places this might have potentially dropped from.
Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but this item is considered a "world drop" right? So if I understand correctly it should be obtainable from lvl 35+ zones.
Anyway I theorize that if there was a mob from a lvl 35+ zone that was wrongly associated with a neighboring lvl 15 zone it could drop loot such as this.

Level 15 zones do not scale to level 8. at level 8 only starting zones are scaled to you.
Advise you not to spend hours up on hours trying to reproduce it. This was hardly a drop in first place.

That's cool, but I never said what you quoted me for.

The shield was being sold for the same price as the req 58 shields on the server.

Aye the damn thing quoted the wrong person! so much for associating with wrong things!
Would take the claim of ah with grain of salt.
 
I am of the opinion that the item is part of a botched GM restoration, especially since the individual that sold it seemed to have very little idea of what it was worth.

It is known that GMs have the ability to scale items.

Good luck to whoever wishes to figure out how to obtain them though.

[doublepost=1549906275,1549905665][/doublepost]ashenvale is 15-60 bordering with felwood. couldnt find any wrong mobs thay dropped anything. redridge is bordering burning steppes... nothing there.. and undead start area is bordering WPL.. nothing to be found... did a GM really do this? is it possible to scale things down with the 8 18 28 38 that was mentioned? and how would that work? where would they farm and are people down to test it?

Gonna be a fun month watching folks try every conceivable way to farm epics on 19s when it’s a higher likelihood that this is just a sloppy restore item from a careless GM.
 
My theory, 1 guy at high level tags, then another guy in group that's 9-10 levels lower tags, and then another that's even lower, and so on. This was the idea behind legion epics being available to low levels.

I said this in the other thread where the OP is selling the item... but I don’t think this is what happened. If the original seller were to do this- they would fully know the item they have and it would have sold for much more than 86k. Any way to know who the original seller was and possibly contact them?
