1: Ding 50.
2: BUY 100/87ilvl SL crafted items, and ilvl 94 SL greens in all slots but neck/cloak (this is mandatory if you want to pvp) https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/kelthuzad/yangster this is the gear. You can farm 111/113 boe greens if you have SL, from https://www.wowhead.com/object=349794/remlates-hidden-cache with spam trial characters. it follows class loot rules, spam the class youre playing.

NEW 9.3: Crafted gear with effects. rings are bis, choose your stats. you can make single stat gear for other slots, doesnt have sockets. full speed set, full set of gear that deals 1k dmg procs, gain 80 main stat proc etc

3: Get your heart of azeroth by getting the quest https://www.wowhead.com/quest=53028/a-dying-world#comments from https://www.wowhead.com/npc=154465/earthen-guardian#comments in Boralus or Dazar.
4: Unlock BFA World Quests by opening all three footholds as part of the Alliance or Horde War Campaigns and becoming friendly with the 3 Main faction specific Reputations. https://www.wowhead.com/quest=51918/uniting-kul-tiras / https://www.wowhead.com/quest=51916/uniting-zandalar
5: Open Nazjatar with a 15 minute quest line starting with this quest. https://www.wowhead.com/quest=56043/send-the-fleet
6: Do the Highmountain scenario to unlock the Essence system(PVE powers) for your Artifact neck. This will also boost your neck to rank 50. Starting here. https://www.wowhead.com/quest=55851/essential-empowerment

Grats you made it to the last patch.
You now have about 2 hours of questing ahead of you.

7: Do the opening questline for 8.3. here’s the Wowhead guide below. Pick up at least BFA level 1 skill for your 2 professions, to loot patterns for 100-125 items from cultist mobs. Get handynotes: battle for azerote addon. Do the white dots on the map to do the assaults fast. Do not open your Black Empire Cache from the 2 zone Assaults until you finish the quest lines and get your cloak legendary. 8: You beat the game. With your high ilvl level 50 neck, full 87-113ilvl crafted/world SL boes and rank 1 https://www.wowhead.com/item=169223/ashjrakamas-shroud-of-resolve?bonus=6272, You’re stronger than all the numerous 51-60 party sync’rs you’ll encounter, and have the durability to be viable in non-solo fights against max geared players. Now it’s time to gain power.

9: Check for Heroic Harkshore Warfront(a lore filled prequest IS required once, which also unlocks an eye color tint for Night Elves), for its 115ilvl item. You want weapons or azerite armor shoulders/chest from this.

Do Emissary World Quest dailies(Pic above is how they look), and weekly Assaults to get 100ilvl gear, and https://www.wowhead.com/currency=1803/echoes-of-nyalotha and https://www.wowhead.com/currency=1755/coalescing-visions. Aim to replace your Helm, Shoulders, and Chest first with Azerite gear, which have much higher Primary stat and Stamina than regular items would have at the same ilvl. Azerite armor from assault lootboxes can drop at 111ilvl, upgrade-able to 116. Start the process of upgrading the Void Focus to craft 125ilvl gear.

High ilvl BfA crafted gear-
https://www.wowhead.com/item=171312/recipe-void-focus get this recipe to make an upgradable “anvil” used for 125ilvl 8.3 crafts. The upgrades to the anvil come from collecting quest currency, which can be obtained solely from pvp. (https://www.wowhead.com/item=171176/shred-of-insanity drops from Bg/arena wins and occasionally on killing blows. 220 are needed to craft 125ilvl.)

You don't need any profession skill number to make/upgrade the Void Focus. Can be done at skill 1. If you plan on wearing any 125/135 helm crafted gear you should start the process of upgrading the Void Focus on your first day or 2 doing N'zoth assault content. High Prof level is needed to actually craft the gear though.

Engineering azerite helm is a nice perk if you have no access to high ilvl Azerite helm. The Engi helm is 130 and boosts to 135ilvl, just like any M Nyalotha helm from the first 10 bosses. Alchemy stone is nice. JC ring can help vers/mastery stack. Tailor/LW/BS make 2 Slots, but 1 slot of each prof is shared with a 140ilvl slot boss 11+12 M Nyalotha item, or 130ilvl raid BoE. Scrapping the item and Rerolling stats can be expensive, but can be done if you have the funds, to chase bis stat rolls. They all come socketed including the Alch stone.


10: Spend Coalescing Visions and Echoes of N'zoth on Horrific Vision runs. Read the whole guide below. Look for a max geared or even level 60 associate to help you. You can be full carried in these. You will be able to run 5 or 6 of them on your first day if you waited till the end of the cloak quests to open your 2 assault caches, and quickly level cape to rank 5-6.

This is mandatory solo/group Endgame content, bring consumables such as drums and health potions, and read BOTH guides below, and feel free to ask any questions about it also. You need to do this content to upgrade https://www.wowhead.com/item=169223/ashjrakamas-shroud-of-resolve?bonus=6286 which is BiS and procs in BGs and Arenas, and in SL areas even with your neck disabled. You can be carried in these.

This content gets you: 100-125ilvl gear, upgrade ranks for your legendary cloak, a consumable to add a socket to any 8.3 item, pve artifact essences, and many cosmetics collectables. Once again,,, you can be carried in these, by a max geared 50, or a 60..


11: In the next 2-3 weeks, rank your Legendary Cloak up to r12-15 to add the 180 stat proc on it. Keep doing Heroic Darkshore when it cycles to your faction, 3-5 challenge-mask Vision runs for high ilvl gear, and weekly N'zoth Assaults and Emissary dailies to fish for Azerite Gear slots especially, which have a lot more Main Stat and stam than the Crafted SL greens and boes. At this point you’re done, and just waiting for N'yalotha raid to be more accessible, collecting the 220 quest currency for the Void Focus to craft 125ilvl gear, and searching for 130ilvl Nyalotha mythic BoEs with good stats, or 111/113ilvl Shadowlands green world BoEs that drop from a specific chest in Revendreth.


12: Wait for casual 60s to start doing Mythic Azshara and Mythic N'yalotha to get carried for max gear. (140ilvl drops from last 2 N'yalotha bosses, 130 from first 10. 110 Titanforge cap from Azshara)

13: Long term goal: Level your Heart of Azeroth to level 101, where it caps on ilvl at that point onwards at 155ilvl, the same ilvl as a rank 15 Legendary Cloak.

Extra:
Account Wide Unlocks- You won’t need any requirements to unlock World Quests or Nazjatar on alts other than getting the Artifact Neck, and you’ll be able to skip almost all the long 8.3 scenarios. ALL Rank 3 Artifact Essences(PvE Power) can be bought on alts from MOTHER once you obtain them once on a different character.

9.3 crafted gear: There's many options for the ilvl 87 blue gear, you can make the armor single stat as well. All of the equip effects stack in their magnitude.

Raid Boes: The Nyalotha raid drops 130ilvl BoEs: 1 armor slot per type, a crit haste ring, an offhand, and a shield. The armor slot is shared with the slot that your type gets at 140 from the last 2 bosses of the raid, for all 4 armor types. The offhand and shield can potentially be very good purchases if you find them with tertiary stat, or the secondaries are good for you.

Probably WQ, though you'll need to unlock them via some questing that also opens portals to the rival factions zones.

yeah, im sorry i realized i skipped over grabbing the neck, and getting WQ as a new max level in 9.0 and beyond. there is now a new step 3 and 4 in the op/guide with those, with links that should hopefully give enough


i also added more links and cleared up some formatting etc

Been wondering for a while, is 101 really the max lvl in terms of ilvl for the HoA? If so that feels like a design flaw since its supposed to be unlimited, and if not then they should convert azerite afterwards into currency or just cap it at 101.

I havent tested but it seemed interesting to me;
The SL gems that say +16 for secondaries scale back to +6 at 50, so they are 1 secondary short of the BFA unscaled epic gems.
The SL speed gem gives +5 speed per SL gem. (not 5%/3%, but also not taking up 2 gem slots dedicated solely to movement)

Wouldn't 14+ SL gems along with 2/3 of the mainstat gems add more speed than the BFA +5%/+3%'s?
11 +6 versa gems would give +55 speed while only being short 11 versa for example.
Or the healing gem that adds 133 HP/10s for each SL gem, so 1463 HP/10s with a loss of 11 versa.

The Rajani one is an augment rune, not a flask.
For the gems, you’ll use SL gems and the bfa % ones together like you say. The 5 and 3% are more powerful than the 5 speed stat that comes from a SL gem

Will you be in a good spot when you never did anythign before? last time i played was in legion and didnt play a single minute of BFA, but bought it (for legion 110 lvl boost). anything I have to make sure NOT TO DO?

You will be viable if you put in the work. Nothing really to not do. Nothing will mess your toon up or anything like that.

Follow all of the guide, and reach out to someone if you have a friend to help you out with assault weeklys/vision stuff. It goes a long way if you have someone to help your cape stuff as a first timer, since you will have no pve essences to do them easily.

It will be much easier/faster to reach viability in pvp, than it will be to reach max power in PvE since in pvp the azerite trait/essences are disabled.

Having someone to help you get heroic warfront done for ilvl 115 items, visions done, is huge. As someone who has never done any of it, you’ll probably feel lost/overwhelmed. But if you can get all the stuff in the guide done, you will be in a good spot for bgs.

Getting 3 115il azerite pieces from a few tries at “3 mask” vision, a rank 12+ cloak, and getting lucky with a 115ilvl weapon from darkshore heroic warfront will put you in a great place. Then you’d explore doing more visions of nzoth scenarios to fill out your gear. This is specifically what you’d aim for as a totally new 50 wanting to pvp at the strongest you can be. And like I said, a friend/mentor in this gearing process is massive if you have someone like that.
 
I'd also add that not any 60 can help carry you in visions.
You need a friend that has all upgrades and the cloak. Being 60 alone gives you nothing at all of an advantage, in fact the 60 will be dead or insane before the 2nd zone for visions if doing a 4 or 5 mask run if they don't have the upgrades. HC warfronts also require a sizeable raid group in order to que, you cannot solo or duo que them.

thankfully heroic darkshore rewards a mount the first time you do it, and 45 7th legion/honorbound medals, so if you are diligent with checking the group finder, you should be able to find a run before the warfront cycle resets sides. some community members might be interested in grouping if part of one too.
 
What's up guys!! I would like to know if starting a new character with the sole purpose of PVE at level 50 worth it?? Any reply would be a huge help thank you again!!! One of the best essences comes from mythic plus so idk if its worth going for a fully built character at 50.

that essence drops from regular mythic dungeons now.

you will have an extreme amount of work to do if you want to pve twink 50 and dont already have gear or essence powers. no one is running nyalotha at the moment, and high ilvl mythic+ dungeon azerite gear was removed from its vendor, when SL released.

pve at 50 is okay. you can carry bfa dungeons 10-50. speed sets are very effective. you can do visions and carry them for other 50s too.


if you have a toon from bfa, with some gear, totally worth trying to power him up. but a fresh toon has a ton of work to do for pve.
