Sounds to me like this Lag for the most part would be your physical internet connection directly from your provider... server lag isn't going to be more than 200 ms or so in which case you wouldn't be having a drastic issue of not being able to get behind your target.

i get behind them and it says you can not use that ablity/you must behind your target same with getting the the speed boots ill be infront of them but yet the person behind me gets the boots :(

Maybe you need to lower your video settings? This helped when I got laggy playing in Pandaria.

Laughing Skull has unbelievably good performance. Totally should transfer here, your shreads will also hit for 2k.

Not to discredit you my dear, but video and local hardware settings don't affect lag, which is latency (time that it takes your network to communicate with WoW servers and back again). You likely freed up processing power and memory when you adjusted video settings that made your computer process and render imagery quicker :)

If OP is rocking 60ms latency on a 20mb connection and having problems with abilities, it's likely a player error or his internet connection isn't what he thinks it is.

I would look further into this issue. Have you been having this occurrence lately? or dealt with this for a long time?

i chuckled when i read this, remember when you couldn't hit anything cause of latency Mocha? if I walked in a circle during a duel your rogue never hit me, and if i stood still ret aura killed you :)

I typically have the same issue with boots for some reason and it seems like other such power ups like zerk or healhut are the same story at times and I don't typically break 100ms home or server. I'd like to blame my ISP like previously stated. I have them out resetting the lines twice a year because heavy rain or wind causes me DCs. I've thought about switching to cable to hopefully fix it all. The DSL out where I live just isn't maintained like it should be since AT&T bought my old regional ISP out.

I play at 120 ms constantly and I hardly ever face these issues. My latency spikes often to 200-500 ms and it's only then that I may have these problems.

Also what Kayooh said is correct, you always see yourself in front of everyone else but everyone else is in fact a little further than your screen shows.

there is a thing known as video lag you caveman

If you have some lag, use it to your advantage. I had 2k ms up until a year ago. Pepper taught me some cool tricks while lagging (moving while hojd, being out of los when clearly being accessible, picking up the flag and being in tunnel before the physical graphics showed the flag being gone, moving while rooted, being able to attack 30 yards away as a rogue)

It's impossible to hit someone who's teleporting / phasing in and out, although it is annoying when something like blink actually moves you backwards while running, If you have latency issues theres nothing you can do until you upgrade :p

Also make sure your bandwidth isn't being affected in any way. If you have a neighbor streaming or torrenting off of your Wifi you're likely to encounter these issues if it's a spikey thing rather than constant.

haha any1 in the northern hemisphere who bitches about MS knows nothing

edit: use an ethernet cable it helps my nets stability, i used to get constant freezes where everyone would run on the spot for ~15 seconds when i was on wireless, now i just sit on a stable 300 ms

Turn off automatic updates, torrent, streams (even paused ones). Limit unnecessary addons. Play on hardline not WiFi. Upgrade for $5 or whatever to faster download, but actually test it and make sure you are getting what you pay for. Even with optimal connection, optimal latency, excellent graphics you will still often see about a yard difference between where you see yourself and where someone else sees you.

My GF and i can be on two comps side by side, under 40ms both, 90fps, and still see that gap on each others screens. Its just part of the game. It shouldn't be a big enough gap to drop out of hit box, but it will irritate you sometimes at speed boots, huts, and AB flags etc.

Right after preexpansion patch i had 6000ms for three days. Dunno why but that was some crazy lag glitching. Not exactly fun though.
