5.1 brought some new things for the f2p community including an undead bird of prey, exclusively found in Hillsbrad Foothills.

For all of you hunters out there, 18 new rare pets(actually 148, but we can't catch em all) have been added all across Azeroth. Most of these new pets were previously unavailable to us because of level restrictions. All 18 of these are pretty cool and some (imo) are definitely worth collecting. Just a side note, the rare Gnath (which would have been #19) in silverpine, can not be tamed as it requires the level 69 ability in order to tame. I have tested this.

I was logging in after the patch and saw Carcinak (cool looking lvl 23 crab) hanging out with the murlocs by southshore. I thought he was full of candy so I killed him. Dropped a crap green.

Gray Turtle with purple shell outline and greenish shell

Brown diseased bear "dying bear"

Brown Dog (not a new look but included as worgens could only tame pre 5.1)

Yes, the abilities are the same. Cunning Bird of Prey with 8 second disarm. I like the undead bird look, so it appealed to me. Besides the awesome model, just your normal bird of prey.

As I like collecting pets on my hunters, thanks for the info!

Some being really low level is nice (managed to ad this ghostlywolf and this ghostlybird the collection of my 15 hunter, both spawn in close proximity of each other).
