Here is a map from the Wikipedia page on the European Migrant Crisis. On the left, it shows the proportions of immigrants who came from each country. It shows that the vast majority actually don't come from Syria. Maybe 20-30% at most. The immigrants come from very diverse regions.

Guns are ingrained in US culture. If the citizenship wants to reevaluate gun laws, then it will elect politicians who have this reevaluation as a goal. The murder rate is about 5.0 per 100k people in the USA, it's pretty low given the amount of guns and the ease of procuring them. Higher than the 1.0 or so per 100k people seen in Northern Europe, but more guns is going to mean more murder.

It seems this map os also taking into account the flow of immigrants that comes from all over the world to Europe each year. And not just those fleeing from ISIS and the different civil wars in the middle east.

Obviously every immigrant and refugee contribute to the ongoing refugee crisis, but it's important to differ from the immigrants that would have migrated to EU no matter the current situations, and those fleeing because of the trouble in the Middle East, which are usually those who are referred to, when referring to the issue of the high numbers of immigrants and refugees these past years.

My point is, that most European countries have a system able to handle the usual flow of inmigrants, but with all these refugees coming in from Syria and the surroundig areas, our systems simple can't keep up and it turned into a crisis.

Now back to my statement about the vast majority of the refugees being from Syria (and the surrounding areas): the 'immigrants' (who are actually refugees) putting pressure on our system are mostly from Syria, and as you can see from the map they outnumber those who we 'expected'.

You're right, though, that if you consider all the immigrants and refugees, they don't make up the vast majority, although it is te country that 'produces' the most refugee.
