Resto Druid healing... Terrible?

Figured I'd heal to get faster dungeon queues. I have the best possible gear I could have at this point from questing at this point, yet it is absolutely ridiculous how fast I run oom. Healing at this level is not rocket science, especially with like 4 possible spells to use. Is there a reason my pally never even comes close to going oom while the Druid does constantly?

holy shock costs next to no mana, WoG doesnt cost any mana. 1min judgement proc increase spirit by 20% and you can pretty much soloely use holy light thru most dungeons.

I think the issue with druids is our fast spammable heal (regrowth) takes up a lot of mana, and our low cost heal (nourish) is so slow and does so little healing that I at least felt adverse to using it.

How I heal in dungeons is save regrowth for a boss fight, if your tank has decent gear they won't need it. Cast rejuv at the beginning, and then start casting nourish right away, and if they need it go ahead and let the cast finish and if not interrupt it and start the cast again to save mana. Keep rejuv up but save swiftmend for those "ohshit" moments.

I agree that healing seems a little more work intensive on resto, I had a lot of problems transitioning from disc priest healing (bubble, /afk) to resto, and resto definitely has a lot harder of a time coping with undergeared tanks, bad pulls, and insufficient dps. It is doable with some careful mana management but you have to be prepared to deal with those bad groups that don't understand that druids don't get dealt the same deck of cards at this level as other healing classes.

If you want to heal as a Druid, go Boomkin. DoT Spam and Offheal. You play as a lock but u can heal/root. Locks can do slightly more Dmg/CC but you make up with that with roots/travelform/thorns. Boomkins are a good support class.

If you want to play as a resto druid, gear as an FC w/ a healing wep(that gives SP). This way your heals dont suck and u can be a decent FC w/ swiftmend for those "oh sh*t" movements.

If u wanna play a facerolleasy class, then just go feral. Spam Mangle 4dawin.

I think hes talking about dungeon healing

In that case resto ---> rejuv>nourish>rejuv>nourish Throw in an ocasional swiftmend and this should be keeping any thanks you run across up...

When I do dungeon healing I use rejuv and nourish, but healing on a Druid is fricken terrible

To be honest, as long as you have good Spirit, and stay weary of your mana you'll do fine. It's all about consumption. I don't recommend using them in Arena though...

Make sure you swiftmend strategically, use it on cooldown and during the last 3 seconds (or less if you have haste) of a rejuv. This means that you should not reapply rejuv until at least 3 seconds of your Smend cooldown have ticked by. This ensures you wont waste 75% of a rejuv when smending. The rest of the time spam nourish and use regrowth where necessary. Feel free to burn a regrowth HoT on smend at anytime though, it's not worth wasting the CD time on regrowth HoT.

Regrowth + Swiftmend, Wait a few seconds, Rejuv, right before Rejuv ends, use swiftmend again.

Win.

imo Dungeon healing even as a feral druid is just fine as long as you tell the tank to watch your mana. I always queue for all 3 roles. I do use intel elixirs and wiz oil the few times i pop as a heal vs. tank...and haven't been in a run yet that i couldn't heal through (albeit with a few "watch my frickin' mana" warnings to the group).

How are Resto shaman on mana efficiency while healing dungeons? Just curious, because tE difference between holy pally an Resto Druid is so night and day it's retarded.

To be honest I don't think its possable to go OOM with RestoSham unless your hardcore dps'n between the odd heal when earth shield isn't enough.

Get focused, put Earth Shield on yourself and so no Water Shield, keep getting focus fired, you'll die because of your lack of mana.

To answer your question, Lebowski...

Resto druid is ok at healing, however prepare to be mediocre at best. It just isn't that powerful of a spec at 20 currently. If you want quick queues I'd suggest just going feral and tanking. Much faster queues than healing anyway, plus the dungeons at 20 are so easy to tank you really can't go wrong.

...that doesn't actually answer his question. The answer is "There's never been a real attempt to balance classes/specs at 20".
