Are you sure? Currently testing this as a Prot Warrior, the armor kits definitely seem to be granting me AP.

I'm logged in right now as my BM monk, my SIPS are giving me 8 AP when I put them on and they have 8 Agility and an Armor Kit. So, at least for monk tanks, they aren't granting Bonus Armor.

Edit: I should also add, my Bonus Armor stat on my stats page says Bonus Armor: 0, and mousing over it says "Increases Attack Power by 0".

Interesting. I just checked and it seems to be working for warriors/paladins/druids in their respective tank specs (Bonus Armor in the stats page corresponds to my number of Armor Kits). My monk unfortunately hasn't leveled LW yet, so I can't check that out right now. Perhaps it's an issue with the BM version of Bladed Armor?

Additionally, the +1 Armor to cloak enchant doesn't seem to be giving any benefit whatsoever, to Armor or AP.

Man, now I really want to look into this. Can anyone else with a BM monk comment on this? Grants are you actually seeing Bladed Armor as a passive ability in your spellbook? Also, can you say whether those armor kits were applied before or after WoD?

Bladed Armor does not appear in the spellbook, however the game does show a "You have gained a new passive effect: Bladed Armor" message when you change specs. It seems to be one of the many passives that Blizzard has (rather annoyingly, if you ask me) decided to hide for some reason.

The characters I looked at had the kits applied before WoD. I tested post-WoD application by putting a Medium Kit on a previously unenchanted piece, and the newly-applied kit works just as well.

For reference, all this has been done using Medium Armor Kits, I suppose it's possible that the Light Armor Kits behave differently.

Based on this, for science I dropped my Brewmaster spec and specced into WW, and then back to BM while watching my stats. It did display that I had gained the Bladed Armor passive, but my stat sheet still did not show any bonus armor from my armor kits. So then I tried applying a new armor kit to an unenchanted item, and no, it still didn't change my Bonus Armor rating. Nor, interestingly, did applying the armor kit change my actual armor score.

So either there is something wrong with Bladed Armor on BM monks, or there is something wrong with the display of armor and bonus armor on a monk's stat sheet. But I figured that if there were some problem with Bladed Armor and monks, I would find all sorts of posts about it on the web. I found nothing. So at this point I'm really mystified.

The next thing for me to test would be to equip some piece of equipment with an actual "bonus armor" stat on it, but as far as I can tell, at our level that's limited to the Chef's Hat and the Spring Circlet, neither of which I am getting any time soon.

the armor on the defies 2 set bonus is considered bonus armor. i can confirm this from my guardian druid (thus it is bis for stam stacking guardian and for normal balanced)

Which reminds me . . .

(my computer is wrecked and sucks at WoW and I'm bored with the game), but

I still get the itch to make twinks and have been wondering if this would be a good build for a Alliance Panda BM monk:

eyepatch
agi neck
shadowfang then shadowcrafter spaulders
bandit tumult (there's probably something better, I didn't look into cloaks much)
armor of the fang then maybe shadowcraft tunic
bands of serra'kis
Gargoyle's Bite (dunno the scaling, but non-scaled it gives 22 bonus armor and useless 9str.)
naga gloves or foreman's (b/c rares are fun and maybe haste is okay)
belt: bandit?/fang?/wild?
smelting pants
whatever
ello's band
wsg ring/RoP/DPR/Ring of Defense
RoPerf
insig or haste trink (b/c even on a hypothetical twink, I don't even want to consider farming AGM again)

after sometime/acquiring boa, is haste worth much on either BM or WW?
two haste one-handers
foreman's gloves
3 of the fang set
haste trinket
DPR

Fairly sure Ring of Defense and Gargoyle's Bite both have bonus armor

Good call, I don't know why Wowhead didn't show me that when I searched for items with +bonus armor.

Has anyone seen any official response regarding bloodthurst not proc free wild strikes bellow lvl 50?

Why is warrior's Shield Charge listed in the tooltip as a level 18 ability when you can't use it?

Shield Charge replaces Shield Block in Gladiator Stance, which is only available through a level 100 talent. Shield Block is learned at 18, so I guess Blizzard saw fit to have the replacement ability (S. Charge) learned at the same time as the original (S. Block) despite the fact you won't technically be able to access it until 100.

I can't say I fully understand the logic behind it, but that seems to be the situation.

No, although I have seen non-F2Ps posting about it on the official forums.

I filled out a bug report the moment Old and I got on the PTR and saw that it wasn't working for level 20's.

No response :/

This question is particularly for those who arena a lot, incl. Bop. Didn't seem important enough for its own thread.

I did about half an hour's worth of arenas last week (arms warr with a priest) and I enjoyed it enough that I'd be interested in learning how to get better at it, on all my chars (arms warr, bm monk, rdruid in particular).

My question today is: are there any particular addons that you all would recommend that are specific to arenas that would help me out? (For reference, now, combat-wise, I only run Battleground Targets and SaySapped)

Thanks!

The only really important one that I would recommend is Gladius.

It's basically like an improved version of the default Enemy Arena Frames. It will display trinket timers, and you can hook up a DR tracker addon (like DR Timer) to Gladius, so that you can check that sort of thing.

As an Arms Warrior, I would recommend some addon that displays your debuffs over an enemies' unit bar, so you can swap to targets with Rend about to tick off.

Tidy Plates fits the bill nicely. :)

As Bop has said, Gladius is great for those getting into arena. I'd also recommend an enemy cd tracker such as interruptbar2 or nameplate coolddowns. There aren't anymore ADDONS you really need.

Also, Kincaide If you're like me and find Gladius a bit messy, use sAreana which shows arena enemy frames. Also you would need a DrTracker, along with Interrupt bar 2 which I would say is essential unless you can write your own script to add to your ui. Some recommended addons would be GladiatorloSA which would shout out important cd's that enemies pop, e.g. Trinket or Tiger's Lust.

One last addon that i use for arena as a healer is TellMeWhen, just because i can track enemy cd's with it. I mainly use it for Tiger's Fury since a feral will tend to ferocious bite after using this ability thus I can start casting as I know there's a lot of damage coming.

Hope this helped!
