Are there any patterns to what zones the invasions occur in?

Invasions (on PTR at least) aren't functioning very well, but you can force copies of invasions. Generally they happen in only a few zones; Tanaris, Westfall, Hillsbrad Foothills, Azshara (not functioning on PTR), Dun Morogh and that place where Taurens live.

At level 20 your ilvl of items will be the same as the ilvl of your heirlooms (I think it's 25?).

Wowhead lists them as requiring Level 98, the upgrade token itself. Also if you look at the TT for the Weapon @Holythane got to drop from the Large Legion Chest it doesn't say iLvL 34, 1/6 it shows no upgrade at all, so that may only be for 98+ or even 100's only.

loot scales depending on ur lvl, same as looms.
