Fucking well said, Ratterz do us all a favor, cry us a fucking river.

Hi, I'm the organizer of the US Tournament, and I want to voice my opinion here to try help you guys out (if this thing is actually legit).

While it's great that you guys are having a tournament in EU as well, I personally feel some of your rules are overkill / plain don't make sense. If you watched the US Twink Ranking tournament at all, you would have realized that further on in the tournament (when we got to the more skilled teams remaining), we weren't seeing any random insta-gibs and games were lasting a decent amount of time, which is great for viewership. We really felt as though we nailed the rules, because in terms of game-play everything went smoothly. Anyway, allow me to provide some constructive criticism on your rules.

No Wrath gems !

This was something we considered in US as well, but you have to understand that it is plain annoying to be asked to completely regem your character for a tournament, essentially gimping yourself for any kind of gameplay outside of it. Obviously people are going to want to practice before the tournament, and forcing them to wear terrible gems is going to harm those players greatly. There is simply no real way to practice with gimp gear like this, other than wargames against each other, which I would advise against mainly due to the fact that teams may figure out your strats, and ways to counter it when the tournament rolls around (my team made this mistake and is ultimately the reason we were eliminated by Shadowplay, on top of disconnecting in the previous series).

No wrath enchants / tinkers ( or cata... )

Again, kind of unnecessary. It's common knowledge that some enchants can be expensive / hard to find, and forcing players to re-enchant their gear isn't exactly good either and with the same concept as gems, it will turn people away. Not everyone has infinite gold to burn on reenchanting / gemming their character all the time.

No glyph's

This is one of those rules that falls under the "plain don't make sense" category I mentioned earlier. To my knowledge, there is no way to flat-out remove the glyphs a character is wearing, and even if there is, why would you want that? Glyphs really aren't that gamebreaking at all, I'm not really understanding the reasoning behind this one.

No DEATHKNIGHTS ! ( YOUR NOT TBC <3 Taylor :p <3 )

Not sure if this is serious considering the <3s and :p's, but if this is actually a rule then this is just stupid.

No Enchants past 375 Proff's ( only using TBC ones in that 375 skills aswell ) - mining and herb and skinning we cant really do much about but ask kindly to relevel :p

This one can slide, but it also follows the same concept of the first two, in that you are forcing players to regem gear. Mining / Herb / Skinning are rarely used so I won't bother touching on those.

So anyway, all I'm trying to say is that it's fairly obvious that you are simply trying too hard to balance your tournament and make it unique. Forcing players to spend thousands of gold to re-gem, re-enchant etc is just unreasonable, and it also forces players to purposely gimp themselves so they will have no real way to practice against any half-decent players who are wearing wrath gems and enchants.

Do what we did at the US tournament. Put in a suitable resilience requirement for all players, ban tinkers, and you are set. Like I said, I feel our tournament turned out very well in the later stages in terms of class-balance and entertaining games (with the exception of the Prot Paladin team, which is being banned from the next tournament).

Now that I think about it, I don't see a resilience requirement at all... were you planning on allowing people to play in full PvE gear?

I probably just look like I'm ranting at this point, but if you are really planning on running a legit tournament, you should really sit down and think about some of the current rules you have in place. They are overkill and while they will get the job done in terms of burst, having a resilience requirement and banning tinkers will do the job just as well, while at the same time players will actually have ways to practice in that gear and won't be forced to spend thousands of gold on getting outdated enchants then replacing them later.

Anyway, best of luck.

The person putting this tournament in place, isn't offical in anyway so therefore his rules are for his tournament.
We could copy your tournament but copying is boring, i guess in the future there will be an offical tournament.

Update, I'm afraid to say i wont be able to enter. I haven't got the time to farm the gear change enchants and stuff. I've got to much college work on my hands at the moment but best of luck to who ever is taking part. :)

P.S Ratterz keep wintrading :)

In terms of saying "his rules, his tournament", you're right, and I'm aware of that. But having the experience of running one of my own which was done semi-professionally, I was simply voicing my opinion on what I feel would make it better as a whole. Take it or leave it, it doesn't matter to me, I'm just trying to help get more competitive play into the bracket.

However your quote of "but copying is boring" is kind of... well, it proves my point that you guys are trying too hard to be original and creative. There's a very fine line here, one which becomes very obvious if you have crossed it. There is no point to try be original / creative with your rules if there is another set of rules which are proven to work. Once again, you don't have to listen to anything I'm saying, I'm just trying to help.

i completely understand where you are coming from anatomyx, and i thank you for your feed back being structured unlike wintradefag razzer, now i do feel the rules are a bit of a mess atm, we will be fixing it for then 2nd one, this was mainly aimed to see if people are interested in it :) we was aiming to get some feed back on here, next time people will have time to get the gear and so on.

about the gear requirement, we feel the bracket might be more fun back in the older gear, the guild im in / co run, is these rules normaly and works fine people are happy they dont just 1shot bosses and it takes a bit of work to down things. i understand that at the higher brackets was a bit more balanced, but as many people cant get the tazik's BIS and so on everyone is able to get the old gear, infact the farming for most of it can be done with our guild xrealm raiding, doesnt take long aswell * i can still understand people cba and i respect that *

dont worry we will be sorting this out and testing it with a 2's set up 1st just to test the balance before actualy releasing now, we will repost this when the rules are completely set in stone :) thank you for your time
PS Razzer fuck off.. Go trade irl, like pokemon you would be great at that

Yawn the wintrade fag comment again? I bet if you got offered a spot you would take it, out of the whole 20 people who got asked all of them wanted it so please,
