Protection Paladins, Spell Hit, and PvP Weapon Choice

Just check my char "Secco":

Amory

Was Prot since beginning (as you can see with all the int equip).
She has 5,96% hit in the wow armory. Will check it ingame too.

Cheers Gattuso

Edit: With Demon Band you would end by 13 hit

Here's how i would built a new prot:

Chardev

You end up with 6,5 % hit

Cloak and waist is missing because chardev doesnt work with the enchants on the scatchel items.

When you take the new hit trousers you loose 3 stam and 3 strength. But you gain 2 hit and 2 stam and 1 strength Demon Band vs. Silverlaine.

that just for reference purposes on existance of hit caped paladins. simpler stamina build with more easily/fastly obtainable near bis gear.

Mo

that's my nooby prot paladin, i'm mainly holy however i figured i'd log out as prot so just so i can post in here <3

also my holy mog is #1, i'm too lazy to get a mog set for Prot

2 Minute trinket greatly outweighs stoneform and 4str. I do like the fact that dwarf BiS is Diamond Hammer, but protectors sword has the same top end and one more STR. Dwarf could potentially even use Face Smasher, for max Str, because crusader strike damage is so negligible when compared to your STR-based spells. I would still favor human, and put dwarfs and draenei on the same plane. Not like it matters though, as long as you're a prot paladin.

I tend to use Mace of the Order until BOA. 4 strength from Protector's Sword is negligible as AS and Judgment are going to be heavy hitters regardless of whether your min maxing strength or not. You need to worry about the damage you aren't doing in those 15/6 second gaps and 15-20 extra weapon damage does wonders for your Crusader Strike/White Damage.

Not to mention Fist of Argus is probably one of the best looking 1h weapons in the bracket as far as mogging goes which is why I still use it even though I have the BOA sword.

Also, for prot pallies checking this thread hoping to learn something, use cleanse. Tired of seeing cripped flag carriers. l2p.

I prefer BSR over everything else. The amount of top end it has over protectors is enough to outweigh the 1 str. I would use Protectors over the quest mace though, because 8ap and several DPS are worth more than 5 top end to me. It's all about balancing your stat priorities. Str may be your #1 stat, but you have to weigh in others as well. Significant upgrades to multiple (albeit lower weighted) stats can be better than a minimal upgrade to a higher ranked one.

Touche', I concede. I think my bias just stems for my love for Fist of Argus. XS It's very *paladin*.

-4 strength +9 swag.

Mildly undergeared FotM Prot in a hit stacking set (last game had a few 24s) : Badathealing @ Vashj - Community - World of Warcraft

Made my quest choices back in Cata to maximize flexibility between Prot/Ret/Holy while prioritizing pieces with hit (I used to hit cap for Holy too, usually using Boots of the Hero lol). Overall, its a pretty half-assed twink since I found Cata pally kinda boring.

I still need to pick up Foreman's/Kalecgos' Leggings as well as my BoA shoulders. When I get around to those, I'll sub them in for my main set while keeping all the hit gear in my pockets for 24-heavy games. Not too keen on doing the entirety of Silverpine for Bracers of the Most Trusted.

But yeah, at least some of the Horde FotM Prot rerolls with mediocre gear are conscious of their spell hit rating >.>

This thread reminds me of Ret somehow....I miss it :)

Also since this thread is about Prot pallies, I got a question.

How to beat 24 rogues with swift pots?
