in wod bonus armor aka +green armor text will, for prot/BM/guardian speced classes, be converted into attack power
i have 95 cooking awards atm, started with it in on my f2p warr before i knew of these changes, so was kinda lucky i guess

I know that, I have already gone and bought across major twink servers every piece of what will soon to be BiS 29 and 39 prot gear, I was just asking if the hat would be itself being GF'd at release, as to mainly inquire as to if I should grind my ass off now, or just take it slow and have it still be around for my prot to pick up after release at a more leisurely pace.
Prot itself will be Fotm, simply due to the Bladed armor passive. Now if Blizz somehow pays attention to its effects on lower levels (who am I kidding that will never happen) then it might be somewhat balanced out, as it stands now, its just going to create a massive grab for bonus armor items. As the highest amount of bonus armor items are mail/plate, prot warriors and paladins will have a serious edge against guardian druids or BM Monks. Prot warriors themselves pale in comparison to Prot pallies coming into WoD (Glyph wise, rotation wise, and ability wise) so if anything, I would say PP will be the major Fotm

what other items except ring of defence have bonus armor?
Chef's Hat - Item - World of Warcraft you are looking at 12% damage reduction. If everything stays how it's looking right now.
Lucky Fishing Hat - Item - World of Warcraft is 15*18 health per stamina I believe so 270 health and 1.78% damage red from the 6 armor.
So lets say you have 3000 health with fishy hat, which is looking pretty standard...
3000/(1-.0178) =3055
vs
2730/(1-.12)=3102
This is assuming you are taking purely physical damage... but nevertheless it's a nice piece even if you aren't prot.

Items - World of Warcraft
Gargoyle's Bite is quite nice but i doubt better than dropping ALL your enemie's armor.
Well I was going to keep this a minor secret but I decided ive bought what im gonna buy and have a nice stash.
I dont know if the bonus armor values on the chests and such will keep once WoD is out, they might just GF them, who knows, but as of right now ------> Jouster's Crest, Ardent Custodian, Archaedic Stone, Steel Breastplate, Sergeant's Cloak, Defilers Gear, Green Iron Bracers, Shield of Thorsen, Double Link Tunic, Chef's Hat. There is also a few 2 handers, and a staff but they both only give +40 or something generally minor (and you wont be running a 2h as a prot anyways, the staff will prob be BiS for druids though).
Many of those things are BoE, 2 are made from Blacksmithing, the epic mainhand for 39s sells for anywhere from 500-1.5k these days, im sure that price will dramatically rise. The Double Link Tunic is extremely rare due to undervaluation, only 32 of them exist on the US server auction houses at this moment, all on obscure servers and the like. Im sure that will also change.
Shield of Thorsen goes for approx 310g a pop, not too rare, depending on server, but not at all common and if you see one on your home server buy it and stash it away as that will be the BiS shield for prots at 29 come WoD if things stay the same. Its a gamble, its a bet, I'm personally betting a few thousand gold that ill be able to move this murch for triple what I bought it at least come WoD.
