Paladin gear

For horde prot dps definately not BIS.

Especially for horde dps its BiS, regardless of ppl wanting it not to be so, coz da ring is hard to get
It gets you hit capped with boots and bracer and you dont need to lose on other stats; alliance doesnt need DPR to get hit capped so it's a debate if its DPR or 7str ring, but for horde its not even debatable

With bracers, boots and ring you are @ 5,96% hit. Thats very close, but not hitcapped.

"It gets you hit capped with boots and bracer and you dont need to lose on other stats" => WRONG! You loose other stats. The most importent stat for a prot DPS => Strength!

There are better hitcapped builds with max. strength and around 2k life.

Don't get me wrong. But you said in an earlier post the ring is "absolutely BIS".

BIS isn't that easy. You need at least a complete build and then decide what has more importance for you.

For me, a prot dps has to be hitcapped and max strength. The good (not max.) healthpool comes automatic. And 1% oder 2% more crit isnt of interest (Personal view!)

Easier to get than Demon Band under many circumstances. Catch 40 fish fast and it's yours. Demon Band may never drop for you.

It's not about Demon Band or the contast ring as an alternative.

There are a lot of option:
Pala quest mace
Honor sword
Blue hit axe
Hit trousers
Cobrahn's Belt
BOA sword
Drakewing band
Hit shield
etc

Just do the math and take what you think is BIS for you. I can think of at least 6 different hitcap chardevs with different max. health, max. strength, max. crit stats.

But dont call a single item "Absolutely BIS".

I rather use the Pala Quest thing anytime for near hitcap so i don't Sacrifice Strength which is oh so valuable. Honor Sword only gives hit for Humans, mind that. Dwarf can hit cap with Diamond Hammer, and Draenei can cap regardless. But imo definitely go for Pala Mace as Horde, assuming you got Boas and LFH already.

Before LFH, FTG caps you just fine. Demon Band actually only if an option if you want to use Skullforge Reaver as Horde. Weapon damage isn't really relevant for Prots, so i rather switch Demon Band with Silverlaine's or Foul Strength over it and just go for Pala Mace.

I also feel really iffy about using Thaelrid's / Scales of Aku'mai over Foreman's. Losing 10 Str for 7 Crit is a bit too much. This is assuming people who use Redbeard's over the BFD shield, this Strength sink is even higher with other shields.

no need to get mad about it, so peace guys
there are other DPS stats than str - maxing one stat is rarely the way to go, actually crit gives you more burst which often counts when dealing with a healer
I compared all the options and I still consider the DPR BiS for horde
but at the end of the day you may use whatever you want Im absolutely fine with it

i think what their saying is when you determine an item as "best in slot" it's your opinion based on the stats of the item, other people may go for different stats or even just think something's better,we can't all agree.
